My horse has a history of gastric ulcers but was treated and scoped clean and has been on prevention ever since. He had caught himself on a gate this past summer and had a traumatic injury in flank area this summer which had been quite sore at the time. He also got attached by wasps this past summer/fall near his sheath. He holds his weight no obvious problems but is sensitive on both sides If you go near his sheath. The vet cleaned his sheath a month ago. I just tried 30 days of gastrogard which made no difference. I know it could still be ulcers or it could be hind gut. Scoping is not really an option right now as that is a long haul expensive and stressful for him. Could he just be sensitive in his sheath area?
I wonder if he had a psoas injury or something like that from the first incident?
