September Yearling Sales 2020

This one!

My fault!

My fault @ASB Stars  That Tapit colt was bought by Eclipse, Gainesway, Winchell and LaPenta

I liked the Curlin x Midnight Lucky colt that sold for 1.1 Million to Repole, Gainseway, St Elias et all, better. than the Tapit , but then again I could never pick the sale topper if my life depended on it.

@ravenclaw and @RoughOut Thanks for the kind words.

Good article about a ā€œRingmanā€ helping grooms present the horses:

Lovely More Than Ready colt. 350K hammer.

Five of Honor Codeā€™s are out. Looking forward to seeing his hip #707.

700K Uncle Mo colt standing very quietly except for his tongue which he was wagging continuously. What a goofy boy.

Another nice Arrogate colt 210K hammer.

very impressed by the Honor Codes. not only do they have some flash but conformation-wise they seem to be extremely uniform and extremely balanced. The sport horse people would eat them up. Not to mention i think Honor Code is one of the most physically impressive stallions on the market, not just for his chrome either. Nice to see him carry on for his great sire

Also always impressed by the physical appearances on the American Pharoahā€™s. Most are built a lot like their sire; not as long, plenty of strength, big hind ends.

The Arrogates are pretty, also a very uniform group. Wonder if they will be difficult and hot headed like some Tapitā€™s. Interviews indicated they could be rather strong headed.

Gun Runner is the final one I am quite impressed with. I would not mind adding one of those to the stable in the near future. Lovely group. Excited to see them make their debutes

please excuse me while I wipe the drool from my keyboard:

I donā€™t find the Arrogates to be ā€œuniformā€. He seems to be getting more that one type. Some look like sprinters and others like classic horses.

Honor Code x Miss Squeal filly with the flashy feet 150K.

@LaurieB I see they bred Shriek to Mastery, repeating the Candy Ride line with her that produced Paid Up Subscriber. The colt is out of the sale, but he looked good in the video.

Whatā€™s the significance of mentioning that a relation has worked ā€œfrom the gateā€ or ā€œworked four furlongsā€? Is it just that they made it to the racetrack rather than being too slow to race?

Working from the gate means that the horse came out of the starting gate during his training work. Many times the horses are worked without using the gate.

I believe they mention the works to show that the horses have made it to the track and are training, and so the times working from the gate are differentiated due to being from a standing startā€¦ @LaurieB will hopefully correct me if Iā€™m wrong.

Thanks @skydy , I thought he looked good in the video too. So far, weā€™re still staying away from the saleground so I have no idea why he was out.
