Settle or Immunall? Who has used it and why?

I have one of my older girls (15 this year) that got in foal twice last year and lost both pregnancies and this year over 3 cycles, couldnt get her in foal - period

We have done the usual tests on her and they have come back fine. Have not checked progesterone levels on her and that will be the first order of business for next year’s breedings with her

Both Settle and Immunall have been suggested to me to try with her

Which one is better in this case and why? What does one do that the other doesnt and vice versa? Who has used both products and what results have you had with them? What protocols need to be followed with them?

It seems like a lot of people KNOW about them up here, but cant find anyone - here - that has actually tried them ad what their success rate had been

Any / all information would be very much appreciated …

I have a girlfriend who SWEARS by Immunall… I’ll send you her contact info on FB!
I have no personal experience with either, but she was a very vocal advocate of immunall

You mention having done all tests; does that include a uterine biopsy? If not, that would be my first step.
I’ve used Immunall and I think it is a great supplement for generalized health, but it did not change the conception rate of my mares. Plenty of other people swear by it, though.

Thyroid issues (low but still in normal range) can also cause conceptual problems.

Do a search for a thread I posted about Settle

Short version: I have a mare that has BAD reactions to Oxy and has never gotten in foal without it. She pools. I left her open for 4 years (this is a mare that has won over $40,000 in purses barrel racing…so she needs to be having babies  ). This past spring I used the Settle IU and Immunal over her feed, used both… and she got in foal the first time. The foal was sold before she conceived with the HOPES she would and the new owner is over the top excited about this baby. It may never work again but it worked this time. What I was hoping for was to decrease the pooling, and maybe it worked, maybe we were just lucky.

I also swear by Immunal for reproductive help and just plain immune boosting. I take a bit myself occasionally, though the Bloody Mary I put it into may also help improve my “glow”.

Be careful Diane…

I know one girl that had been on fertility drugs for 3 years with no success and had given up so she decided to try her horse’s Immunal and got pregnant in 2 months!!! Her doctor was scratching his head.

I also take it myself, the immune boost and energy boost is great but getting pregnant scares the haides out of me, lol!!! It worked on my mare, and has really helped all my other geldings look better and feel better too (well at least it seems like they feel better they haven’t actually told me they do )

I also love Immunal for my mares.

The human pregnancy factor, not so much!!:lol::lol:

Is Settle and Immunall basically one and the same? Just different manufacturers but basically the same product then?

Thanks for the feedback!

No, not at all. Immunall is a supplement, mostly herbal, I believe. Settle is used either IV or as an intra-uterine treatment for endometritis. Settle is an immunostimulant made from a mycobacterium. It is only labeled for use in mares suffering from endometritis caued by strep. zooepidemicus. However, it is often used off label for other breeding issues. You can read all about Settle here: http://www.expectbetterresults.com/index.html

I would make sure a uterine biopsy has been done, first (as I stated before). If the mare has a problem with infections or endometritis, then I might try the Settle.

This - did not help me on conception rate.

The one year I used Immunall religiously on two of my older maiden mares who had failed to conceive for the past two years, has worked fine for me. Both in foal, one try for one and two for the second.

The third mare didn’t get in foal but was not at my place and they didn’t gave Immunal as recommended since the bottle came half full (should have been empty).

The following years did not use it and no pregnancy for those three mares.

I sold two of them and this year I used homeophatic products and the third mare got in foal. I still have one not in foal but she has been away to a vet clinic for insemination for the past three months hence not threated.

There is no way I can count on someone else to give these products. Regular medecine is fine, people believe on the importance of it. But when it comes to liquid supplement like Immunal or homeopatic I guess they find it too complicated and they are not as diligent. And don’t ask a vet clinic to give them homeopatic products…

I am a big fan of Immunall!! I have a 1997 BRP mare who hasn’t had a foal since 2003. She went through a very bad situation the owner before the owner I got her from. The previous owner leased her out and leasee spent thousands of dollars trying to get her into foal for a full year. The owner took her back and tried for a full year as well. No luck at all. Leasee couldn’t even get her to come into heat. I purchased her and tried for two months without success. She was ultrasounded and had a “blood blister” on her ovaries. Researched Immunall and decided to take a chance. Started her on it and bred her after 3 weeks. VOILA!!! She is in foal  30 day preg checked! Thank you Immunall

Immunal-donor mare on it, recip mare on it= one breeding= pregnancy= one flush=recip pregnant.

Added bonus-pony 2 yr old with mystery paling spots around one eye in the hot hot summer. A week of a bit of immunal- voila-spots gone.

Thanks for this thread- I have a horrid cold, and forgot about immunal- going to chug some down right now. TC, if you want to take it yourself for health, plug your nose at least- it tastes like OMG.

Claire Plante gave the immunal to my mares. I told her that is what I wanted, and it happened. Especially since I said “you have ONE go at this mare, if she doesnt give an ET, they both go home, so let’s make it happen”
She is a good vet.
