Shade screens

I have been reading some of the older threads about shade screens and am planning to put some up in my barn. I have used them in the past and loved them…But of course I don’t remember exactly what I bought! ( Not Kool-kurtains) some greenhouse shade screens. Anyway I ordered new ones several weeks ago and they are too dark. The horses can see out ok, but can’t see in, so are hesitant to go in…

Does anyone know know what shade level % I need? These are 80% and definitely too thick/dark.

Can you tell me what ones you already bought? I need to buy some. The darker the better for Florida.

Sure!! Actually they are 90%. From Amazon: “Shatex 90% Plant Shade Cloth Shade Fabric Sun Shade Cloth with Grommets”. $25 each for .a 6 x 8
But just to reiterate, the horses can see out (sort of) but definitely can’t see in. Good luck

Probably no more than 50%, but you’re always going to get less visibility looking into a dark space vs a lit space through a shade cloth.

Agfabric 6.5 ft. x 20 ft. 50% Sunblock Shade Cloth Cover with Clips for Plants, Black SDR5006H020B - The Home Depot

I got custom ones years ago from Greenhouse Megastore online. They were green 70%, custom sizing & edging, kept my run-in stalls shaded but open enough weave that you could see through them.

Thanks Everyone. I went with 50%. And you can definitely see thru them!! Both in and out. I was looking for 60, maybe 70, but couldn’t find them in the size I wanted. I think the 50% will work, but are really light weight. Might have to add some weights to the bottom so they aren’t flapping in the slightest breeze!!
