I am going off to college next month and unfortunately leaving my heart horse behind. 
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to remember him by? I needs to be relatively small so I can fit it into a suitcase/assemble when I get there. I was thinking a bulletin board with ribbons, photos, etc., but im open to suggestions!
Well I got a tattoo, but if you donāt want something as permanent, Iād go with a photo. You can also have a custom horsehair bracelet made with your horseās tail hair. Itās pricey but very personal and beautiful.
I have a leather bracelet with a gold nameplate (with his name Top Lyric) on it that. If you can afford it the horse hair bracelets are pretty neat. You could make one of his horseshoes into a picture frame (with a picture of him in it of course! You could also use his photo and put it on a throw pillowā¦ you could do it yourself but I also like these http://hmcpillows.com/ as they have a spot for keepsakes and a tassle made from your horses hair.
i am a shadowbox freak, all my year end awards go in with pictures from that year with whatever horse won the award, made one from medal finals championship i won with the neck ribbon, but those are not very smallā¦ I also scrapbook, have you heard of the āhoof gemsā? Ill try to find it but you send in hoof trimmings from your horse and they polish them up and make jewelery out of it, pretty neat, I also like the horse hair bracelets etc, but Iād hate cutting hair out of my horses tail while they are still alive. I also have a tatooā¦ and love itā¦ but its definitely a committmentā¦

i thought so too, Iām not much for jewleryā¦ actually never wear itā¦ but this would be something along with bracelets out of tail hair that I plan to invest inā¦ I hate that I have to start thinking about the options as I now have a 23 yr oldā¦ who is in good health, but you never knowā¦

Our farrier had a piece of her horseās hoof polished and set in a necklace (actually her husband had it made for her as a gift). The hoof piece was shaped into an oval and set in gold. It looked almost like a tiger eye gem and it was very pretty.
