Shameless pony hunter brag - Penrhyn Sporting Chance!

Penrhyn Sporting Chance turned 25 years old last week. We’re so proud of the fabulous shape he’s in, I just had to post a photo! We’re honored that this famous boy is retired at our farm. Now that we’ve got a wonderful new camera, we’re planning on taking a bunch of new photos and video of “Sporty” this spring for posterity.

And in about a week, Sporty will be a grandpa as we eagerly wait for his gorgeous daughter, Sporting Life, who is in foal to Blue Who to foal. We’re hoping to get a photo of the three generations - Sporty, Sporting Life and the new foal standing side by side.

Later this summer, Sporty will have his own baby born out of Rosecroft Smart Cookie. Very much looking forward to taking photos of all of the generations of pony hunters.

What a handsome boy… he sure doesn’t look 25!

We’ve said since the day we purchased him that he looks and acts like a 12 year old…tops! He really has been incredibly well looked after over the years. Absolutely no sign of ever having laminitis, etc.

Richard Taylor did that boy proud.

He is totally responsible for making a (really big) name for him, and breeding some really lovely get that have gone on to be lovely performers, Sporting Life among the many!

Congratulations to Sporting Chance on those accomplishments!

He most certainly did! It’s too bad the next owners didn’t keep promoting him and kept him in the limelight like Richard did…and many of his USEF placings got lost in the woodworks during those years, as no one made sure the babies were all hooked up to his USEF sire points account. :frowning:

When we purchased him in 2009, so many people emailed to congratulate us and all said they thought he had been dead for years. Unbenounced to them, he had been hiding out in British Columbia for many years. He is living a posh life now!

Congrats Daventry! He looks fantastic  He’s a lucky boy for sure!

Congratulations, Tracy he looks great. Very handsome.
