I’m spoiling my christmas card image, but that’s okay - took a single photo this year with my best girl… 1998 model, 22 years together and counting.
It’s the same for me and the Old Man! Having them for so long is such a treat. Your photo is beautiful!
Those BELLS! <3
My barn’s decorations came out, so we had to partake. She gave a bit of a side eye to the tinsel but was remarkably good with everything else. (cookies helped)
My Donkey is usually the star of our holiday photo shoot. This year he was extra tolerant and put up with all my animal shenanigans! One of our pups is very happy to pose on him and surprisingly one of our young girl cats found his back a comfy spot to rest. She even made some dough!
All those are so wonderful, hope we get to see more.
Our BO generously sponsored a photo shoot this year. I didn’t want to go too seasonal as these are the first pro photos I’ve ever gotten, but I think they count anyway. My girl is quite photogenic; I needed a little photoshopping
Bells on my Dutch Harness Horse today. Happy Holidays!

Our “family” portrait plans didn’t work out this year, so I’ve been playing Photoshop with some other pics and a few I’ve taken of my boy with Christmas attire.
Our Christmas card
One from the other day
We did a Christmas photoshoot at the barn last Saturday. This is my senior horse posing for me as I worked out where to position the horse and tripod. Best picture!
I love the look on his face!
Wasn’t sure where to post this, but I guess this thread fits best. Merry Christmas, everyone!
Twas the night before Christmas and all thru the barn
Each horse snuggled cozy in their blankets all warm.
Some out in the fields, and some in their stalls,
But happy they were, each one and all.
Their stockings were hung on their stall doors with care,
For they’d all been good ponies throughout the year.
They had jumped all the jumps and won pretty ribbons,
And to their riders, the sweetest nuzzles had given.
Hay they had eaten and dinner so sweet,
Each wondered about a Christmas treat.
Would it be mints, or apples or carrots?
Would they each have their own or must they all share it?
Then from the sky, without noise or fanfare,
There came Christmas magic in the cold winter air.
Softly drifting in silence, the snowflakes did fall,
The peace of Christmas for one and for all.
Like the angels’ message on that first Christmas night,
The snow cleansed the earth as it clothed it in white.
And each horse remembered the story of old,
Of a baby born out in the cold.
Next morning with joy they did frolic and play,
“Be glad! They nickered, it’s Christmas Day!
We’ve been given a job from the One up above,
To share with our humans His faith, hope and love.
He’s given us whinnies and ears cutely pricked,
Canters so smooth and trots that won’t quit.
He gave us jumps to make them feel they can fly,
And soft friendly necks when they need a good cry.
We’ll give of ourselves to each do our part,
To pass on His grace to each human heart.
For God already blessed us on that first Christmas morn,
When Christ was born not in a house, but a barn.”
Psssssh, you don’t need any photoshop, you both look wonderful!
