Shawnee Hounds

Has anyone hunted with the Shawnee Hounds (IL) before? I’m moving to Southern Illinois this summer and would love to know who to contact about becoming involved with the hunt. I won’t have a horse right away, but would be interested in getting involved (volunteering?) in any capacity with a view towards getting to know folks and learning more about hunting.

I hunted with my trusty event TB during the year we spent in Virginia and it was the most fun I’ve ever had on the back of a horse, so I’m excited that there is a hunt close to my new home.

I have hunted with them a couple of weekends in the past, but not too recently. I always found them to be a fun group and had some great hunting. Their country is very flat and very open, when they get on a run they can really cover the miles. As best I can tell from the MFHA.org website, Shawnee does not have a website. I will send you a PM with some contact info I have.
