Shipping bid company?

Apologize for not taking the time to go through the forum, but little personal time these days. My friend mentioned that another she knows uses the company where you post the route you’re looking to ship your horse, and you get bids.

Name of the company/site?
Experience? Good/bad?

Thanks!!

Could be U-ship?

No telling who you get there, better be safe and use a commercial company that, while not perfect, will at least come with real, solid recommendations.

You can get bids from them by just asking them on the internet and you will be surprised at times they are even cheaper than those other smaller companies that at times have problems and not as good resources to fix them.

Do avoid Nationwide, there are threads about how bad they can be.

Hope all is well with you, just rushed.

You can try it to see what kind of bids you get but do some good searches on those that make offers. While many of us would prefer to stick with nationally known companies, many of them don’t always do the routes where horses need to be shipped. This has happened to me 3 times now. I ended up using private haulers each time. I will say that all 3 times, while not perfect maybe i.e. no big commercial van; all did great, were prompt with updates and horses arrived in great shape.

Yeah - afraid that where he is is so far off of the beaten path that the big companies won’t go there. Although where he’s going is near Saratoga. But you never know.

It was U-ship. Will see what I get. Will be careful. I think I remember reading/hearing of good stories, but also someone with an unregistered trailer, or no insurance…something to that effect. I’ll ask lots of questions.

Many ushippers are commercial companies.
