Shoo-Fly Auto Fly Spray System

I did a search but couldn’t find a lot about this system in particular.
The company is local to our farm and gave us an excellent quote to install a 6-8 nozzle system in our barn ($200 less than ordering the pyrahna system and having to install ourselves).

Does anyone have one that can give me a review?

The flies here in Florida are horrendous and my old guy just popped up with a summer sore in December despite being wiped down with fly spray twice a day, living in a fly mask, and on the bad days a fly sheet. We have excellent manure management with stalls cleaned thoroughly twice a day, turn out cleaned twice a day (yes, we pick every poop pile out every day), and placed in a manure pile 4 acres away from the barn/house which is removed by a company every 4 weeks. Fly predators have done nothing, the stalls still sound like an airport by noon! Something else needs to happen here to control the flies!

no experience with the Shoo-Fly system but it appears to be the same set up for the pyrahna system we have… so it really depends on just what you are spraying and when and the duration of the spray cycle

Exactly, they have their own product they use in the system which I believe is the base molecule for the active ingredient in the pyranha. Wondering if it works as well or if we should just go with the pyranha spray (should be fine in the system) but also that the system lasts as long as the pyranha. I don’t see why not but finding reviews is tough and having the motor burn out or whatever a year in would be a bummer at this price point. It may even be exactly the same machinery/tubing/nozzles for all I know anyway.

natural pyrethrins seemed to work better for us

The natural pyrethrins are contact poisons which quickly penetrate the nerve system of the insect. A few minutes after application, the insect cannot move or fly away. But, a knockdown dose does not mean a killing dose. The natural pyrethrins are swiftly detoxified by enzymes in the insect. Thus, some pests will recover. To delay the enzyme action so a lethal dose is assured, organophosphate’s, carbamates, or synergists may be added to the pyrethrins.

we sprayed mostly in the early mornings then again in the late evening

from what I can see I see no difference between the two systems hardware,

I self installed on Shoo fly system in PA and have been very happy. I call in the spring and the very helpful staff helps me rotate spray concentrates. No flies in the barn is awesome for a very reasonable price point.

Had ours installed today. Super professional, beautiful job and the flies are already GONE! Highly recommend if anyone searches this company in the future. Best price point around for a system as well.
