Shoo fly leggings, do they seem more poorly made this year?

Thanks, everyone!!

At least I know I’m not crazy and many of you have also noticed a decline in quality. I’ve been using the black nylon binding for 2-3 years now @Kyrabee, but the boning and stitching around it gave out in just a few months! That never happened before. I’m using a second pair in the same season. Oddly and strangely, I’ve saved previous pairs after the season in case I need emergency boots and have something to compare to over the years. I’m just n=1 but it is good to hear other peoples’ opinions on quality.

Thanks everyone!!!

I guess I’m just lucky or my horse is really easy on her fly boots. Lol.

I’m jealous! For sure!

I’m glad to know there are alternatives. I’m looking forward to trying them next summer.

Mine are looking much more rough this year as well BUT we’ve just come off 2 years of drought where there has been no grass to “rough them up”. This year, the grass has been belly high!!! So it’s pretty dense grass my horses are walking through daily.

I’ve noticed the same thing with my daily riding bell boots. They are getting really chewed up bad this year, but again, the ditches I ride are also full of dense thick grass which hasn’t been the case the last 2 years.

Mine are also looking worse for wear after just a few months of 24/7 use. The set bought 3 years ago lasted the partial season when I first bought them and all but the whole next year. Total bummer as I had to buy a second set this year for another horse as well and buying two sets a year for horses that are generally easy on items would suck! Following to see if more alternatives are posted!

I’ll second the Stomp Stoppers recommendation. I believe they will customize sizing.
