Short stemmed horse hay

This year the Bermuda hay that I bought from my regular place is really short stemmed and my horse does not want to eat it. Is there a good way to feed very short cut hay to your horse?

In a small hole net or a ground feeder. Mine eats her chopped hay really well out of a Hay Saver with the plastic grill removed so it’s just a giant Tupperware in the corner of her stall. Putting it directly on the floor is an invitation to fling it around and use it as bedding. The Hay Saver has ended that issue but still allows for head down chow time.

The worst with chopped is handling it once the bale is opened. Into a fine hole net and then into a big cooler for steaming hot works well and seems to make it extra palatable. Caveat, mine is not Bermuda, and it at least very soft to start with.

Thanks!
