Should I be POed...

I ordered something from tackzone and wanted it delivered quickly so I went ahead and, ugh- paid $27 for 2nd day air. That was on Tuesday evening. Checked the tracking number yesterday, it said projected delivery was today, Friday. Still has not arrived, so I just checked the tracking number again and it now says estimated delivery on Tuesday the 17th! Am I taking ‘second day’ air too literally? Or do I have a right to be POed… I mean, I did pay $27 for a relatively speedy delivery…

i would be PO’d

I would be mad. Second day air means second day air, literally.

I would be demanding a refund of shipping fees. Assuming you missed the shipping cutoff tues, they should have shipped weds and delivered fri.

You can be mad, but I don’t see how you can blame the tack store. It’s not like they delayed shipping it. They shipped it out promptly. The blame falls on whatever service is delivering it.

Yeah but the store should offer a refund and take it up with the shipping company

Thank you all for your replies. As GoforAGallop said I’m sure some of the blame could definitely fall on FedEx rather than all of it on tackzone. I emailed tackzone. I have to say, if I don’t get a refund ill be pretty ticked even though it probably isn’t tackzone’s fault. $27 is a lot to pay for shipping, and to not get what I paid for is just… ugh.

I’ve ordered from them twice in the past 2 months. Both orders were delayed. As in, they didn’t ship for 7-10 days after I ordered.

You have no recourse with the shipping company. You aren’t the customer. Tackzone is.

I’m the same as well. I just ordered some cheek pieces a few weeks back and it was pretty late… Luckily I didn’t need them right away! But if you paid for 2nd day and it’s that late I would be PO’d as well.

Don’t quote me but I seem to recall the post office and UPS telling me that for our area which is rural there isn’t any way to actually get 2nd day air service. They will sell it to you but then tell you that it will actually arrive like 3 days later or so. So if you are in a rural area a good distance from a hub where the shipper can fly into and out of it may well take more than 2 days (weather can also factor in deliver times).

they should refund you the difference between regular shipping and the 2nd day air. Depending on when you placed the order - there were some weather events which delayed some flights I think in the mid-west but as another poster mentioned if you are in a rural area 2nd day might not always be true

Id ask for a refund, their fault or not. I used 2-day shipping when I ordered from SmartPak, but it didn’t get here in time, and they gave me a full refund. I immediately ordered something else with that money of course.

You paid for 2nd day delivery and did not receive what you paid for. You are entitled to a refund from the tack shop, it’s their problem to deal with FedEx or whoever supplied the shipping service. And if you don’t get a prompt response dispute immediately with your cc company.

UPDATE!

The girth I ordered arrived today as expected, 4 days late. Definitely not 2nd day air. I emailed Tackzone on Saturday explaining this and on Monday night, after still not receiving a reply, I thought they were just going to ignore me. However, 10:30 this morning I received an email back saying they will refund the entire shipping fee for me! Not awesome that it was 4 days late but the blame probably lied with FedEx and they are going to give me a full refund on shipping- so yay for tackzones customer service  And it doesn’t hurt that the girth is STUNNING and very very high quality- if anyone’s looking for a pretty leather show girth, look no further! http://www.tackzone.com/catalog/1130-split-panel-double-elastic-fancy-stitched-girth-p-1220.html It’s sooo soft and the leather is amazing.

Glad they took such good care of you!

Curious, was the box marked second day air?

That’s good that they refunded your shipping fees. That’s what they should do - because now they can file a claim with FedEx and they won’t have to pay the shipping fees either.

ETA: That girth IS gorgeous. I love Bobby’s tack. And that price!!! You can’t beat that.

Yep, the box as well as the paper inside were both marked second day air.

It’s positively stunning and omg- I just can’t get over the quality. Most leather girths are stiff to some degree, especially straight out of the box- not this one.
