Shout out for United Vet!

Because I have a vaccine reactive horse, I order the bulk of my vaccines and have the vet out in the spring for rabies only. Have been managing their shots like this for years. Every year I order what I need from United Vet.

A couple weeks ago, I loaded up my cart and placed my order with the overnight shipping. They usually ship on Mondays, and I didn’t think anything of the weather that was coming. At the time, I think we were only supposed to get 5-8" of snow. That morphed into SNOWMAGEDDON with 2+ feet predicted. We wound up with about 16" but it was that big storm that shut down a whole lotta stuff. Needless to say, the package didn’t arrive.

I emailed the peeps at United Vet to find out how long the vaccine would last. The package was in Indianapolis with no delivery date. Figured it was my fault for not paying more attention to the weather and I would just have to eat the cost of repurchasing.

Was very pleasantly surprised when they offered to reship at no cost. The new package arrived today with no delays

United Vet has taken care of me over several years, several moves and several states! Customer service really just can’t be beat. Highly recommend them

Great company, they’ve always done right by me. I liked the company and products so well I became an MVP Ambassador

Just got my order today! Good people to work with.

This is very good to hear! I wish I had known how great they were a few weeks ago. I had to order from two different suppliers this year and had atypical fiascos with both. Next time I will try United Vet!

I’m always surprised that people don’t know about them, @Texarkana! They kinda fly under the radar for some reason.

The first year I ordered, I SCOURED the internet for the best price on the vaccines I wanted, and United was it. The experience was so seamless that I’ve never redone that price check.

One AWESOME thing about living in MN (where they’re based) is I got FREE SHIPPING via courier. I had no idea about that and added the regular overnight when I ordered online…they emailed me to inform about the courier thing and credited back the shipping. (@My Two Cents are you close enough for that? I don’t know if that service extends into Iowa or not…)

And they also respond to email promptly. You don’t even have to go track down a live email–just respond to their “you’ve ordered!” email and Heather will get back to you that same day. Sometimes it’s just so handy to not have to call and not have to go dig up a customer service email address.

Really, could not be happier with them. I could have written this before the weather stuff this year because they’ve always been great, but resending the order is just above and beyond.

Always order vaccines from United Vet Equine! Love them.

Spee-Dee delivery has the best service ever. We have made decisions on which company to order supplies from based on which delivery company they used. I wish Spee-Dee had a drop off facility closer to us because I would send packages that way too.

I’ve ordered from them for years. I just got my year’s worth of vaccines, wormers, and frontline for dogs from them last week, on the heels of the storm.

I realize this is not the point of your thread but I have a question.
Why do you order and give your own vaccines if you have a vaccine reactive horse?

Having a vaccine reactive horse is why I want the vet there when/if vaccines are given, that is why I ask.

I started giving my own because the vets in my area only used vaccine that caused a reaction in my horse.

I can give the Vetera vaccine with no reaction, so I order that and give myself.

I guess I should ask my vet what brands they have tried.
Last year even Rabies alone was not pretty.

Rabies is a tough one–so few options! I dunno if you give the rabies/potomac combo, but my vet this year said that’s a bad one for touchy horses. She advised giving the rabies straight up (although I don’t know what brand she used) and do potomac in July.

Blush’s issues were always with EWT, so it wasn’t terribly hard to switch it up and find something that worked better for her.

Short answer is no, we do not do a Rabies combo with anything.

Last year the one and only vaccine she was given was rabies and that was after a good dose of banamine. No visible reaction on the outside (no hives this time) but she got very uncomfortable, kicking out and panting.
