My daughter is a freshman at High Point University in High Point, NC. Does anyone know any Hunter/Jumper show barns in that area?

There are monthly, quality C shows in Greensboro from April to October. Your daughter can get a good horsey fix there too. Check out www.sedgefieldshowgrounds.com There is an A show coming up the first weekend in September and all the barns mentioned will probably be there.

Evergreen, HPU has a IHSA barn at Fox Run Farms in High Point. It’s very close to HPU… maybe 7 or 8 minutes. The owner is Cathy Schlaeppi and you can reach her here: 336-687-9222. Tryouts for the HPU riding team are scheduled for Thursday and Friday if your daughter wants to try out.
I never rode for the team, but I’m from this area and during the past year while I worked in a bank I also rode at the farm. During my younger years when I was still showing, I was at Clouds Harbor and it was a great environment if you want to show.
Cathy and her husband Martin run Sedgefield shows, so there is always an opportunity to show there during the year. I hope your daughter has a good freshman year!

I have heard good things about Anne Morgan too, but I don’t have any personal experience with her or the farm.
I didn’t know Cathy had a boarding barn. Definitely Check that out too. I am so appreciative of that Greensboro team that runs the Sedgefield shows. They are such quality shows and we always enjoy them.
Definitely check out the Schaleppi’s and Torihope. Clouds Harbour is awesome too but a good 30 minute drive from HPU.

If you’re looking for something a little more laid back (C + schooling shows), Shawn Potter at Ledford Farms is great. They have a big group of girls who show almost every weekend.

My daughter is a sophomore at High Point University and is looking for a good barn near by. Any ideas? She events but will consider any nice barn.
