Show breeches...any new favorites out there? Horze?
Another vote for the Horze Grand Prix - the downside is they have velcro leg closures, which I am finding I like much less than the sock style leg. That Velcro gets stuck on everything!
I just bought a pair of the Horze Grand Prix self patch breeches and they have sock bottoms. Really comfy sock bottoms that aren’t too tight on my cankles! And they hide cellulite amazingly well (in tan), fit my pear-shaped curves, and are high enough rise that I don’t get plumber’s crack. They’re my unicorn!

Good to know. I’ll look at the self patch GPs - the ones I have are full seat and a few years old, so maybe they are making them now with sock bottoms. That would make them unicorns for me too!

TBFAN, it looks like they are making the full seats with sock bottoms now as well! My older self patches have the velcro, and I totally know what you mean about them attaching themselves to everything.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions! I have a pair of the Horze Grand Prix and I’m not a huge fan. The material is not comfortable to me, and velcro leg closures are a deal breaker. :frowning:

I have a pair of Romfh, but not sure which ones. I love them but the past couple of their breeches I’ve tried didn’t fit well. I have a pair of Ariats that will have to be pried from my cold dead hands, but I have had them for several years and the price jumped to over $200. Ugh.

Our customer favorite, just seems to fit well on many different body types. http://www.theconnectedrider.com/riding-apparel/womens-riding-apparel/breeches/pfiff-tabea-riding-breeches-bordeaux/

They look really nice, and bonus, this review made me laugh my a** off: “I needed a pair of wine colored breeches on short notice for a grey I rode in a clinic.” First world problems!

Are yours an older pair maybe? I have some ones I got for xmas that are the sock bottom…

I bought a pair of RJ Classics Gulf breeches on a whim because I really liked the burgundy, and they’re now my new favorite breeches. I really love the fabric, it’s thick enough to be flattering but not clingy or hot, and it doesn’t sag or stretch out or fade. They run a touch big, but I really love mine. For the under $150 price point, I’m pretty impressed. Will definitely be buying more.

The breeches that fit me perfectly and are the most comfortable are my Winston Equestrians, but they are pretty expensive (naturally, because that’s just how these things work).

the horze grand prix breeches i think would fit people that tend to carry more weight proportionally in their legs rather their waist. the material seems to me to be very similar to my pikeur breeches (thicker, i think it should wear quite well). For the price they seem very well made. I think they fit a lot like a pair of ariats I had (more fit in waist, looser in leg). the ones i have are the sock bottom.

were as the pipers seem to have more room in the waist and less in the leg and perhaps sit a smidge higher on the waist than the horze GP - it really depends on your body type which you will prefer I think. an issue i have with pipers is the fabric in the butt seems to pucker after awhile. The material is softer than horze and a little more stretchy and clings to your skin a little more i think.

Don’t get the Pipers…they’re awful. I don’t see why they are so popular (though maybe it is because SP is practically giving a pair away with every purchase?)

For a higher-waist in a White color, I love the Romfh Isabella breeches. It is their Sarafina fabric (which is super-yummy and stretchy yet not see-through) in their Champion-cut (a curvier and higher-waisted fit than the regular Sarafinas).
Oh but have you tried these: https://www.smartpakequine.com/pt/piper-knit-breech-with-silicone-grip-full-seat-by-smartpak-13073 Love these things. I have a muscular butt and thighs and these fit great! OP, they don’t come in white but have a slate gray,

I really like my Tredstep Rosa breeches (at least the side zips). However, the side zips come in tan…and tan.

The rest of the Tredstep breeches seem to run on the slim side. Well, except for the Nero breeches. Though I can’t comment too much on the fit as I sized up assuming they’d be on the small side and the pair I have are way too loose. They seem to fit more like the Rosa breech.

I’m definitely pear shaped and my legs are fairly well muscled.

I have a pair of Tredsteps that I actually like, but just don’t love. I may try them again but in a different size.

Quick update, I ordered a pair of the Piper Modified rise for schooling breeches and I find them much, much better than the regular Pipers. I originally ordered a 30R because for some silly reason I thought they were too long, but they ended up fitting like the regular low rise. I got the 30L and they fit much better. For schooling I’m a fan. However they do gap at the waist. I wear a belt, but definitely not something I want in show breeches.
