Show breeches...any new favorites out there? Horze?

Does anyone have a pair of these?

I’m on the hunt for a new pair of show breeches. Dove gray or white, either one. I have a white show pad but am not opposed to using a black one!

I’m going to order a pair of the SP Piper Modified Rise breeches, but they don’t have white. :frowning: They have the regular rise available in white, but I am apparently the only person in the world the regular Piper breeches do not fit. I’m a 30L, depending on the breeches, but my legs and butt are muscluar while my waist is smaller. I wore a 28 forever until my butt got bigger

Essentially I’m looking for breeches that fit a curvy body type, have thicker material (I have a pair of Annie’s breeches and LOVE them, but they’re a bit thin for me to be wearing white!), but are comfortable. I’m hoping someone else has a similar body type (even if you’re not as tall) and can help me narrow down the search! The B Vertigo ones I linked are the absolute max budget, and I don’t even want to spend that much. My former trainer has a tack store and stocks Horze apparel, so I’ve seen how nice their B Vertigo breeches are, which is the only reason I’m considering them.
TIA!

I have their crescendo breeches and I adore them. They are holding up really really well (in comparison, I bought a pair of ghodho breeches at the same time and they are already pilling and seams going) .

The crescendo have the higher waist, and I like that because I am built more like a pear. My husband has the guys version with the smaller waistband and they are the only breeches he wears. He loves them. Now, he doesn’t ride nearly as much, but he has volleyball thighs and a small waist and he is super pleased with the fit of these (aka they fit on his legs, which is difficult to do)

I also have their crescendo breeches and love them too! I want to try these as show breeches since the crescendo don’t come in white or grey, but I love the way the crescendo fit! I too am pear shaped and I love the thicker material and higher waist (though I still wear them through our crazy hot summers and they don’t feel too hot). And the Pipers don’t fit me either–too low rise and stretchy for my taste!

Don’t get the Pipers…they’re awful. I don’t see why they are so popular (though maybe it is because SP is practically giving a pair away with every purchase?)

For a higher-waist in a White color, I love the Romfh Isabella breeches. It is their Sarafina fabric (which is super-yummy and stretchy yet not see-through) in their Champion-cut (a curvier and higher-waisted fit than the regular Sarafinas).

My favorite are these Romfh ones: http://www.romfh.com/breeches/romfh-international-full-seat-breeches-201555

The material is forgiving, and the fit is great for me. I often get a waist gap in breeches when I get them to fit my hips and thighs, but these are awesome.

I love the B Vertigo ones. The Kimberley and the Melissa ones work well. I also have a smaller waist than butt, so these work well for me.

I love the Horze Grand Prix. I loathe full seats, so my dressage breeches are Grand Prix knee patch, but they come in white full seat, too, if that’s your preference.

I have these (http://www.horze.com/full-seat-breeches/b-vertigo-xandra-womens-bvx-full-seat-breeches/36394.html?color=VDB), and I really like them. I’m still partial to the KL Select Dress, which for some reason, they have stopped making, but these are decent for schooling. My only complaint is that the back of the waist gapes a bit, but they are fine with a belt.

I love my Romfhs!

I want to try a pair of the Tredstep Ireland ones, with the stain resistant.

I have a similar build in the waist to you (except I’m super short) and I also take issue with the Piper breeches. The only reason I own a few pairs is because I got them on sale for cheap (to answer a previous question). The leg fit is fine, but the waist doesn’t fit at all. The crotch makes that popping sound and the waist is WAY too big and gaps even with a belt. I’ve experimented with different sizes (due to their return policy) and this was the “best” fitting size.

I’ve finally decided to stop being cheap and buy nicer breeches. I’ve done this… but only when they are on sale  I adore my B Vertigo full seat breeches for schooling. I have the gray/navy ones and they fit me perfectly. I also have a pair of the Romfh full seat breeches that I also adore. They are comfortable, breathable, and are NOT see through. That was a big deal for me with white breeches!

I tried the Tredstep Symphony Breeches on at Dover multiple times. No matter how much I wanted them to fit, my thighs just wouldn’t let it happen. They look well made and comfortable. If you don’t have tree trunks for legs then you will probably have good luck with these.

I would look at the Horze Grand Prixs! They’re a bit cheaper than the B Vertigos. My only cautions would be that they do seem to fit a little straighter than my other Horze breeches, and the Grand Prix material can be super hot during the summer because it’s got some kind of coating that’s not very breathable. (Great for unexpected rain, though – I swear those suckers are more waterproof than my rain jacket!)

Have you tried the Piper Side-zips? they fit much better… but come in beige, not white.

I also prefer the fit of the Piper Classics to the regular Pipers, FWIW.

I was just going to pop into this thread to recommend ROMFHS! With a 20% off coupon at my local tack shop they were quite reasonable and I love the thick waistband and material–it is so flattering!

Check out Devon-Aire’s new Signature line, especially if you like TS or ROMFH. They are very comparable but at a fraction of the price. Lots of color options as well. Dover doesn’t carry all the colors, but you can see them here:

Nope, I have thunder thighs. Not your typical skinny tall rider shape that I would love to have.

Nowhere for me to try them in Canada, so I’ll just stick to my romfhs, my romfhs make me look skinny though LOL!

Another vote for the Horze Grand Prix - the downside is they have velcro leg closures, which I am finding I like much less than the sock style leg. That Velcro gets stuck on everything!

Have you tried the new knit ones w/silicone? So far they are amazing. The other pipers are horrible in my opinion, but also haven’t tried them in a few years so I’m not sure if they changed them or not.
