Show glove recommendations

I need something to have my husband buy me for my birthday, other than a saddle, which he has vetoed. I do need white show gloves since no judges have said anything about my hands lately so I guess I need to suck it up and replace my black ones. Unfortunately I haven’t tried on many pairs of white gloves before, so I don’t have any particular preferences, and I need to find something on Amazon to add to my wish list.

Anyone have any pairs that are super great? My current show gloves are black SSGs and they’re fine, but nothing I rave about. If they come in white, they’d be fine. But since I’m not buying, I might ask for something more luxurious if anyone has recommendations.

Roeckl are really the only gloves I like

My favorite brands are Samshield or Roeckl. The Samshields are more expensive but they last longer for me and have a really good grippy palm.

Thirding Roeckl. My show gloves were the Chester (now renamed the roeck grip?) and they wore wonderfully. I have an issue where I have trouble holding my reins at the base of my ring finger so I can wear gloves in odd places (I go through the knuckle at the ring finger, basically) and the roeckl gloves wore really well (I had a black pair for daily riding that also held up well).

I will say that if you’re used to a really lightweight glove (some with more fabric rather than a leather or fake leather material) it can feel a bit thick/bulky by comparison, but I would say that they’re about on par with most of the leather/leather-like gloves in terms of thickness/mobility. I didn’t find them cumbersome.

Another Roeckl vote. Mine are Chester. And have him buy you TWO - one for show, one for every day. Still a bargain compared to the saddle, lol. AND on amazon

Yep, another Roeckl vote. I haven’t tried Samshield yet, but I’ve tried several other brands, and for close contact, good fit, nothing else works as well as the Roeckls.

Another vote for rRoeckl…I like their Grip gloves and getting a pair for everyday plus the white ones is a great idea. .

Another vote for Roeckl. They’re just the best gloves I’ve found.

Hate to rock the boat here, but Roeckl falls apart for me shrug they flake off by my ring fingers and the edges look frayed and dingy after only one year of use.

I think the SSG Hybrids are SHARP. (also they are only around $30)

I can’t disagree regarding the lifespan. I don’t know about the lifespan of other gloves though because I hate them and don’t wear them. So for me a glove I don’t hate that lasts a year is worth it compared to an awful glove i never wear that lasts a lifetime.

Mine have worn quite well, both for everyday schooling and for shows

I am absolutely in love with my Bionic gloves. I got the women’s golf gloves in brown and white which are absolutely beautiful in person, and which I will not wear much since I don’t show much (though I am about to wear them for a 4 day camp, so we’ll see how they hold up.) Because I don’t show a lot, I’ve found golf gloves can be less expensive than riding gloves and hold up for the use. Gloves tend to not last over a year because of the heat and sweat breaking them down due to my show environment, rather than wear - so the reinforcement between fingers isn’t needed. Instead, my gloves literally shred across the knuckles when I’m putting them on if I try the next year. From multiple brands.

Thanks all! I was happy to see that the Roeckls have a 6.5 size, since I can waver in between a 6 and a 7, so I went with those after the multiple recommendations. Thanks again!
