Hi, I have this horse that I’ve been trying to event, but she doesn’t like cross country, even though she seems to like the show jumping phase. I’d like to take her to a trainer to be evaluated to see if this would be a good fit for her. She’s an Arab cross that likes to jump but isn’t very fast. We are clean 90% of the time though. Any suggestions for trainers would be great we are new to the area so I don’t know who’s around and don’t know who the jumper trainers are. My horse is in northern lancaster county, pa near Adamstown.

You have a few choices in that area.
In Reinholds there is Windy Mansion, they have two trainers there. The main trainer shows in the A rated shows while the other trainer is more relaxed and shows mainly the schooling shows and smaller shows. They are both good but have different styles.
In Lititz, further from Adamstown but only 10-20mins away from you, there is Flintrock stables. They have a trainer who is very good at training horses. You can go to the Flintrock web site just search it on google and it will come up. They are also just hired a new trainer that will be going to the A rated shows. The barn is also very flexible about having short term boarders.
There is also another barn in the Lititz area, but I am not sure of the name of it. Scott Burkhart is the trainer at that barn. He is avery good trainer and does mainly the A rated shows. They are a show barn only, and I am not sure if he is taking clients on for just an evaluation. If I can find the name of the barn and the contact info I will pm you with it. It doesn’t hurt to ask.
