Show jumping Friday AM

Wow, he was hard to watch. I kept saying “pick up your horse” but I don’t think he heard me.

This rider from China seems like he’s in a bit over his head.[/QUOTE]

Yep, that was a pretty scary round! At least they survived in one piece.

About 3 out from Laurie Lever on Drossel Dan … please give commentary … lol

He’s a lovely bloke.

what kind of bit is the argentina horse in? at first it just looked like an elevator, but the big ring is separate from the lower rings

Am I correct that most rails are coming down at the grey stone combination and the scariest issues are at that green picket fence thing?

Have the Canadian riders gone?? Score???

You guys I don’t have access to TV coverage - I’m in Korea!

Yes, a lot of the horses don’t seem to like that green picket fence. I’m not sure why that one is such an issue - anyone know?

Ok I definitely missread that horse’s name as Alaska De Smelly.
Yes that grey combo is tough, but people keep coming in crooked. I definitely would NOT choose that spot to try to make up time!!!

Lever put in a good round for the Aussies!!!

Very nice round for Laurie Lever - just the one time fault.

Drossel Dan jumped clean and finished with only 1 penalty for time.

Okay, we Brits need a clear round from Tim…

Thanks DOGCHUSHU!!! It’s 9:23 pm on Friday evening here - and wall to wall Korean athletes on the TV - I can’t stand it!!! THis is driving me insane!@!!!

GO CET GO USET!!!

The green picket is very different from the rest of the course. Much of this course is open and airy. The green pickets it very tall and imposing and yet the horses can still see through it. We do see things like that here in the US relatively often, but who knows if people in other countries even build jumps like that? In addition, some of the major troubles there have been caused by “pilot error” – if you want to get over it, at least give your horse a chance to help you out!

You’re right that they’re crooked, and they’re getting rails on the first fence of the combo.

A very nice round for Drossel Dan - too bad about the 1 time penalty. And I liked the girl from UAE too - she looked like she is really kind to her horse; she loosened the girth and everything on her way out of the ring, and gave him lots of pats. I like to see that.

thanks guys!
