As has been posted above, he is a “pro”. I don’t see why anyone would care if he was listed as an amateur or a professional.
He’s doing very well at the 1.5 and 1.6 Grand Prix, nationally and internationally. He is 29th in the FEI rankings, which is nothing to sneeze at.
When a person rides at that level it is almost impossible to remain an amateur under USEF rules.
There are many people in the U.S. who call themselves professionals who have much less experience, and have never jumped close to that level.
I think he would be a good choice for the team. I don’t follow any riders social media, so I have no opinions about their personalities. I care about their competition records.
