I would be pretty surprised if this isn’t the line up. Even with the iffy record this year so far, McLain has the experience that I think will be critical this year.
So do you think final Olympic team will be dean, Dinah, Kraut and Ward? That’s an interesting thing to ponder. I guess I assumed Kent was a shoo in like Laura and McLain, but maybe . . . .
Here’s the Swiss team. No real surprises there. They have wonderful horses.
That’s the team for Aachen.
No. That’s the U.S. team going to Aachen.
How the heck did Tiffany Foster get left off for Canada?
I saw something on Facebook today that said Caracole is now the #1 showjumper in the US and Karl is the #2 rider based on the most current placings. Karl has been on a winning streak lately, I wonder how much that will influence the decision and if he is capable of maintaining that streak under the pressure of the Olympics. Laura, Kent and McLain are all experienced Olympians.
Karl is kicking butt. Honestly, if he doesn’t make the team I’d be very surprised.
Someone on FB is saying Jessica Springsteen made the team. I don’t know how true it is, but there are lots of congratulations being offered to her.
Are they talking about a Nations Cup team, perhaps? Maybe for Aachen?
It said for Paris 2024 but it was an individual who posted, now an equestrian organization, which is why I think there is room for error.
Okay I just found the post it was by Heidi Daus, whoever that is. Maybe her PR person who doesn’t realize the difference between being on the short list and actually making the team? I think if it was true we would have heard who the others were by now.
I would definitely expect to get an official announcement about the whole team at once. Not just one individual.
I agree, it must be some non-horse person who posted that. And Jessie would be a long shot at the moment. I would not want to be in Robert Ridland’s shoes right now, what a hard decision to make.
Thanks for posting that, yay Kent!
The entire Olympic team will be announced at once after Aachen wraps up on the 7th - USEF will issue a press release (https://www.usef.org/media/press-releases) and there will be concurrent messaging on the USEF and US Jumping social channels.
You are right, although you only have to watch the Amateur section of Global Champions to see that money doesn’t mean you become a top rider. But no question if you are talented it’s not enough, you need someone paying the bills, whether that’s your family or a sponsor. It is very expensive.
That’s the question of the week!
