Thanks, I had found the team order, but couldn’t locate the rider order!
Oh my goodness. Hope both ok that was awful!
Ouch, looks like Teddy Vlock hit the ground HARD. Was glad to see the horse trot off all right after getting hung up in his tack. Hope Teddy’s all right.
Teddy didn’t move for so long. At first I thought maybe he was just stunned for a second, but it took a while. At least he’s walking off now
I was worried too. Looks like he got the wind knocked out of him. Was happy to see him start moving before they panned away, and it looks like once he got up he walked out under his own steam.
NBC, did we really need to see the replay?
Slowed down too… the impact was pretty sickening.
totally off topic, but commentator said that the horse for China that just finished was sired by For Pleasure.
My horse’s sire was one of For Pleasure’s sons.
that makes my horse a 2nd cousin to the Chinese horse.
Also a 2nd cousin of Fine Lady who Eric Lamaze rode to Bronze in Rio.
no wonder that my lovely little chestnut mare jumping machine can easily save my butt when i make a bad mistake at a 3 foot jump
Good jumping lines!
Geez there are lots of refusals and demolished fences in this round!
This is getting scary.
What happened with Shane’s horse? I see that they were eliminated, but I woke up too late to see.
He fell.
Not that I am in any way a world class course designer, but this seems like more of an Aachen type of course than an Olympics “you’re gonna have all kinds of riders” type of course.
My husband is still asleep and my volume is down- did anyone catch what’s happening with the Japanese rider in the second rotation, who didn’t appear in his ride slot? Bertram Allen didn’t come forward either but it seemed plausible they’d be calling it a day.
What happened with the first Irish rider? We lost internet as he went!
The commentators said they didn’t know why those two didn’t come forward… waiting to hear more.
Did anyone figure out what the green/yellow/red animation in the top left corner was?
Ireland is showing up as eliminated in the live scores. Agree that this course seems quite challenging. However, the two falls that I know of were by very experienced riders.
Shane Sweetnam came in with a horse who appeared emotionally unprepared to join us today; he forgot how to jump, came straight up in back and didn’t rotate his shoulder or fold his front legs. They plowed through several jumps before finally falling at the water tray. Horse walked off.
How do the penalties work for eliminations in SJ? Is it like eventing where they just take a ridiculously high score for that rider or is the team just eliminated?
i have not.
i find it a bit annoying and distracting since i do not know what it means
