Show Pad Shopping

What is everyone’s favorite brand of show pad? I currently have a Wilkers that has lasted me years and years but unfortunately it is too small for my new saddle. It slips behind his shoulder which cannot be comfortable and I believe it is time to invest in a new one.

Looking for something without a lot of bulk under the leg/saddle as my saddle fits really well. Not looking to break the bank. I tried the EcoGold pad but it doesn’t have a girth strap and that too, slipped back behind my saddle!

Could you install girth straps? I don’t know how thick the eco-gold pad is, but both of the models that showed up on google have no padding in the flaps, so I would imagine sewing on straps would not be too painful.
Webbing can be bought for cheap at a fabric store, and it is actually super easy to sew with if you have a machine, and only slightly annoying to do by hand. You just have to melt the edges so it won’t fray once it is sewn on. I would probably just do several rows of straight stitching side-by-side to make sure it was reinforced enough

I use the Ogilvy pads, I have one without the inserts and a friction free one (will likely buy the one with inserts this year) and absolutely love them. I don’t find that they shift all that much through the day, whisks away sweat for the most part, and they clean up beautifully.
I have the 17.5"-18" for my saddle, fits perfect around the edges.

Another vote for Ogilvy! I own about 10 of their baby pads, which I absolutely adore, and a hunter shaped pad for the show ring. I am not a fan of their half pads, but their saddle pads are hands down the best ones that I have ever used. Their shaped pad is very nice for the price, and it looks great under my 17.5" CWD 2G. CWD 2G saddles are notoriously hard to match with a hunter pad because of the flap shape. However, the Ogilvy pad fits mine nicely without any bulging or slippage. As a bonus, they also wash well!

Thank you all for your suggestions!

I am a little surprised that the Ogilvy doesn’t slip considering I do not believe there is anything that is “non-slip” on it. I guess it just must fit really well and not create too much bulk so it stays in place!

I am obsessed with the personalized products baby pads. I don’t know where they get them but I picked one up at EAP what seems like forever ago and the things are still clean, beautifully embroidered and they don’t tend to slip around a lot. I ordered lots after that. I go back and forth between the Ogilvy show pad and the PP baby pads.

I never had a problem with my EquineLUX pads.

@bredtom - thank you!!! this is exactly what i am looking for - they look amazing!
