Go MMB & Shutterfly!
Good trip! They just seemed to have different opinions about how to ride that combination.
Ok my geography sucks…but is HongKong not in China???
Sorry, another question:
When I look at NBC’s results page, I see that there are riders with lower scores placed behind others wih higher scores. For example, the Danish rider has 4 jumping faults and one time fault and is placed lower than someone with 8 jumping faults and 1 time fault.
Why?
TIA
I’m thinking that they might be including Friday’s score in the overall ranking, since MBB just got 4 faults but is being shown with 10 overall, and she got 6 faults on Friday.
You aren’t adding in the faults that carried over from the first round?

That’s right–they are added to a total score of 10 for her…

I guess only when it suits them

I really just think my net isn’t fast enough to handle he HD video. My comp is a wide screen HD and it def. looks like they’re broadcasting live in HD.
Today is the first day all week that mine has “hung” and I’m thinking that it is the site traffic at NBCOlympics.com; I haven’t had zombie commercials, yet, but fear that rebooting might invite trouble!

HK got independence a few years ago I think.

Yes, but it’s considered an autonomous region, released from GB back to China after a lease…it’s kind of like Ireland or Wales.

LOLOLOL…I thought maybe they were like in the same country…

I believe Hong Kong is part of China as of a couple of years ago…no?
Faults from the first round aren’t shown on the results page for today, so I was confused. Sorry – dressage person here – just trying to figure this SJ stuff out.
Another stupid question: are they competing solely for the team medal right now? I though the individual gold was already determined?
From wiki… not the best source, but the best I can do this AM
“Hong Kong was a dependent territory of the United Kingdom from 1842 until the transfer of its sovereignty to the People’s Republic of China in 1997. The Sino-British Joint Declaration and the Basic Law of Hong Kong stipulate that Hong Kong operate with a high degree of autonomy until 2047, fifty years after the transfer. Under the “one country, two systems” policy, the Chinese government is responsible for the territory’s defence and foreign affairs, while Hong Kong maintains its own legal system, police force, monetary system, customs policy, immigration policy, and delegates to some international organisations and events.”
I know I am a cranky old…but hair flying??? Hate it!

Sort of. From Wikipedia:

This is considered the first round for the team medals, but it is also an individual qualifier, and tomorrow’s round 2 for the team competition will be the third individual qualifier.

Not a stupid question…
They are doing both…
Riders who are not in a land-team went first (that was the first group of 15 or so that went). Qualifying for the individual is happening concurrently. Team medals will be determined tomorrow. The top group after tomorrow goes on to compete later on this week for individual medals.
