Sidebar Ads

Is there any way to get rid of the ads in the sidebar, or at least minimize them? I just tried to read a PM I’d just received, and the whole right third of it was covered up with sidebar ads so that I could not read it. There is no way to X these ads away and I’d really like to be able to read the PM.

(But at least it’s not as annoying as what happened the last time I was at the H&H forums. Dollar General had a sidebar ad up there that you didn’t have to click to activate. Just scroll over it accidently and it took up the whole screen and would NOT X away, unless I X’d it nearly a dozen times! And they say H&H is the best horse forum site! We need to vote for COTH on the survey that determines this!)

you can try Adblock plus which i use - i dont see any ads at all on any website… give it a try.

The display issue with private messages is, as far as I know, a bug. Especially when there has been a long line of quoted messages beneath, it breaks the tables and the way everything displays and a portion of the window winds up under the ads on the right.

There’s no way to make that go away. Even if you have ad blocker, it’s just the way the website is built and laid out. If you just can’t read the message, you can go and delete all the quotes and resend it to yourself, or read it in the notification email you receive (if you receive notification emails) or, I suppose, copy and paste the whole thing into a word document or something and read it that way.

The mods started a thread several months ago about their plans to upgrade the site and asked for suggestions on what we would like to see and I believe this is one of the things that was brought up.

Thanks. I just found out that the ads are only blocking one PM, and sure enough, that is the one with all the quotes below. The other 2 aren’t blocked.
