Silicon Fullseat tights with durable grip?

I’ve discovered the joy of modern tights with a silicon fullseat, but the Horze ones I bought are wearing off super quickly  Any recommendations for ones that are a bit tougher?

Well, if the grip is silicon (which is a metal) then fretting is always an issue as you are experiencing.

Silicone (the plastic), I have no idea. I’m a metallurgical engineer guy.

Hardee har har . Although metal grippy spikes might also solve the issue… just a bit tough on the tack…

You could try the Pikeurs, most of their stuff is well-made. But I think of tights as basically disposable, what you sacrifice in durability is made up for in lightweight comfort.

I like the Horze brand, the grip is great. I LOVED my Romfh’s but the quality is a little blah, the silicone died so fast on them. I love their fit and feel, but they just don’t last and for $300, not worth it.

The Buckwild ones seem to stay sticky the longest, but I’ve also had good luck with the full seat tights from Dublin. Just ordered a pair from Sync Equestrian that look like they’d be really grippy - will see when they arrive.

The silicone on the SmartPak breeches I have are holding up very well and are very sticky. I have a tough time getting into and out of my truck with leather seats. They are a fairly heavy weight fabric. I wonder if SmartPak has silicone tights. I would expect that they use the same silicone and that they would hold up about the same.

The silicone on the Kerrits tights (no zipper) doesn’t last very long. They are super comfortable in the summer heat though, so I am still riding in them until they get threadbare in the thighs…

But now folks know the difference between silicon and silicone. Silica is a ceramic.

Montar USA tights have great silicone grip & are long lasting.

Agreed, I have Kerrits and Horze with silicone full seats. The silicone from Equinavia/Horze pants has lasted a lot longer than the Kerrit’s silicone and was stickier from the beginning.

I have been working on the sitting trot forever in Smart Paks Piper. A bit heavy for summer but there is no where on any of my pairs is there any silicone wear.

I like the Kerrits a lot, and I haven’t had problems with the stickiness wearing off. I’ve been wearing my most recent winter-weight pair a lot over the last two months, and they’re holding up well.

The other pair of tights that I have in a winter weight is from Sticky Seat. Also very warm (warm enough so that they’re too warm to wear in the house), and the silcone seat is wearing well.

I have a few pairs from Sync Equestrian and they are by far the nicest tights I’ve ever worn. The grip is really heavy and durable, but not sticky to the point where they stick to the saddle and you can like post right out of them. These are my favorite: https://syncequestrian.com/product/venom-full-seat/

Best of all, its a small business owned by a regular, human rider in northern Virginia. Not English Riding Supply or something.
