Silicone breeches too sticky?

I have a couple of pairs of silicone fullseat breeches that fit me really well but they are way too sticky. Anyone know of a way to reduce the stick a bit? I keep washing and washing them hoping they will wear out a little but they don’t. I suppose if I was sitting 100% of the time they’d be great but posting is a literal pain in the a$$ because the breeches stick when I don’t, leading to all sorts of problems.

The ones I have are knee patch only - and are perfect. I know that doesn’t help you, but if you DO buy another pair - you might look at that option?

For your future buying plans neither of my Kerrits silicone full seat breeches stick, and sometimes I wish they stuck just a little bit more.

I found full seat silicon way too sticky. Like you, perhaps it would be manageable if I was always sitting but it is physically uncomfortable peeling myself out of the tack to post.

The first ones I bought were too sticky. Like mentioned above, the kerritts seem to not stick at all. FITS leather are my go-to for just the right amount of stick…

I don’t have any advice on how to make them less sticky (other than to keep wearing them and wait for it to wear off a bit more), but I do have a pair of the Horze silicone full seats and they seem to have just the right amount of stick to them. If you can’t get figure out how to get yours less sticky, I’d probably end up selling them (if they’re still in good shape) and then trying out some different silicone seat breeches to see if you can find a pair you like. And I’d definitely buy them from a place like Dover or Smartpak with a decent return policy.

I dont own any pair of these breeches but I think you may consider patting/sweeping some sort of powder on the silicone ? Like cosmetic loose powder?

Try using Armor All. It is the “show Sheen” for plastics

Go sit in the hay loft before your ride.

Seriously. Find some barn dust and plant your tush in it before you mount up.

I had to sell mine because i had tights without belt-loops and they would literally PANTS me while I rode. And I do sit the trot…my pants would stick to the saddle like glue, but my body still moved so I was basically shimmying out of the pants lol.

I had a pair and it was like there was no sticky at all. They were full seat and I felt like I was riding with nothing. Glad yours are working at least and the group has come up with some good solutions.

I wear the piper knit silicones and I find they’re too sticky the first ride or two then they’re perfect. My Buckwild breeches are perfect out of the box (and btw I love them).

I hated Buckwilds because they were too sticky! Go figure.

I didn’t keep experimenting with silicone–i just gave up and stuck (ha) with Kerrits (which don’t stick) and deerskin Tropical Riders.

A bit of an update: I had some Glide and I rubbed it on the silicone parts and it helped a lot. It’s meant for skin so safe for my saddle and reduced some of the grip just a little. Bonus part is that when it was time to drop my stirrups, the Glide had worn off and I was back to industrial strength grip. Very good for the unexpected spook, too.

Everyone is different, it seems. I really love the Pipers and haven’t had any problems

Hated the Pipers. I always wear full seats and decided to buy winter knee patch breeches. I chose the silicone knee patch Ovations, and love them. I thought it would feel weird without the seat part, but it didn’t at all.

So which silicone breeches are sticky?? My Sticky Seats weren’t…

The Horze Grand Prix silicone fullseats are super sticky.
