Simply Jif Safe for dogs?

I know we’re supposed to avoid xylitol… here’s the ingredient listing:

Ingredients: Made from Roasted Peanuts, contains 2% or less of: Fully Hydrogenated Vegetable Oils (Rapeseed and Soybean), Mono and Diglycerides, Molasses, Sugar, Salt.

It does mention less sugar on the front of the label and I wonder how much integrity these larger companies have when it comes to listing “sugar”.

What say the dog crowd? Miss Mae isn’t eating her heartworm meds as readily today, dang-it.

I don’t believe a food company can use xylitol without listing it as an ingredient.

For what it’s worth my 3 all get a half tablespoon or so of the Regular Creamy Jif every morning and have for close to 6 years for the oldest. No problems thus far.

can you switch to a peanut butter that is just peanuts? I get a store brand and even get low salt.

I think it’s fine. I think they just use 25% less sugar and don’t replace it with anything else. I have Simply Jif myself, and my dogs have had some from time to time with no ill effects.

Simply Jif is just fine. I use the storebrand creamy for my dog. I do check the label each time I buy it to make sure that there isn’t any xylitol, but haven’t seen a major brand that does have xylitol so far. https://www.littlethings.com/peanut-butter-xylitol-kills-dog/
