Sir Prancealot

I know the common wisdom is that the regional programs are pretty week and, to be fair, there is usually a lot to support that. But Rancho San Miguel in California just landed a genuinely exciting stallion in Sir Prancealot. He was the champion freshman sire in Europe with 32 individual winners in 2016 and, in the past year, with a pretty limited number of runners in the US, he has had two graded stakes winners (Beau Recall and Madam Dancealot) and a stakes winner at Keeneland (Ginger Nut). This past week, Sir Dancealot won a Group 2 in England and Beau Recall won the Grade 2 Yellow Ribbon at Del Mar.

This is a pretty exciting young stallion. In California, breeders are starting to think he may be the replacement for Unusual Heat.

Pronzini, I do recognize his name from the PP yesterday (Beau Recall) for the Yellow Ribbon GII yesterday.

Seems like he’s had some good progeny on the track for a younger stallion.

Will be interesting to see a nice turf stallion standing in CA. Hope he gets the type of mare that will continue his record in the Northern Hemisphere.

Although I always did think his name was a bit goofy

I think he’s an amazing stallion for CA. I was surprised he went there rather than to Kentucky. (But on 2nd thought, we’re such stallion snobs here, maybe he’s better off in CA. )
