Maybe the jumping the legs off the US horses in the 6 months before the Olympics was not a good way of prepping them…
Flame suit on if necessary.
I was totally thinking the same thing.

I believe all 4 riders go for each team (if neccesry, sometimes 4th doesn’t need to go because they are ahead without drop score).
That’s what I’ve heard. All 4 jump. Excited for this jumpoff!!
In 2004 US and Swe jumped off with all riders IIRC.

Actually, they didn’t, as they conceded when they realized they couldn’t make time after McLain’s brilliant round.
We jumped off in 2008 with Canada, who only had 3 riders for the jump off–I forget what happened to their 4th.
I am sorry - ALL FOUR riders ride, and if a tie, the time counts. Just announced. My apologies!!!
Rich and Mclain will ride for individual medals. I know we knew that already, but nice to have confirmation
Well damn.
But the jump off ought to be good! GO GB!

But even the announcer was confused as he made a comment about GB sending Nick S into the jump-off. Guess the Olympics doesn’t run as a regular Nations Cup in more than one way. (it’s over two days not one, at least now)
I am a big fan of Nick Skelton since I was a kid (and I’m not a kid anymore by far!).
I would just love to see him win this gold. What a corollary for a brilliant rider, brilliant career (not to mention he has a sure shot at individual tomorrow, too!)
Nothing against Netherlands, but I must root for UK in this occasion.
When is the jump off?

I was thinking the same thing. A lot of the other teams rested their top horses since the beginning of the year.
Can anyone confirm that Rich and McLain will start with a clean slate for the individuals?
YOWSER - THE FENCES REALLY WENT UP!!! That hanging gate and the last oxer are nosebleed height!!!
Has anyone else noticed how many mares there are in this competition?
Was thinking the same!
Gooooooooooooo Nick! WOW!

Especially since they only get one day off before the individual final, 2 rounds plus any potential jump off, on Wednesday. That’s a LOT of jumping in a concentrated time.
Nick Skelton was BREATHTAKING!!! 47.45, I think, and CLEAR - AMAZING ROUND!!!
Never mind…
Clear for Bubalu!
