Wega’s rider on way to last. Sara?

So heartbreaking for Sara! I was rooting for her. Imagine riding your homebred for gold… that would have been a fairytale ending!

It’s amazing to think the Germans took Gold and Bronze, and that’s despite Ingrid, the leader coming into SJing, withdrawing.
They should be made ride blindfolded at the next Olympics.

Do remember…CMP is done as of now.

Oh, geez–Why I could never have done that kind of thing. What a total heartbreaker.

But what an accomplishement for Jung! Yowza!!

…and Lucinda Green stated she was not a fan of his training methods![/QUOTE]
Many ways to skin a cat?

Yes. Right before the last jump. Not sure whether she felt the wrong spot and knew it was hopeless or her panic helped pull the rail.

Silver is nothing to sneeze at! I’m sure after the disappointment, she will be thrilled.

Btw, why wasn’t Dirk Schrade allowed to take Ingrid’s place after the withdrawl? He was next in line, no?

Well, it is 2:30am here and I have to work in the morning. Good night and thank you all for the company and commentary :).

I’ll drink to that!!! Woohoo! An end of a tyrany, uh, I mean, era!!!

Heart broken for Sara…but just awe struck by Michael and Sam! Holy crap!

He even was not on the Eventing Landscape during the last Olympics and than showed up and has won every title and he is just 30, impressive.

I have to stay awake for the medal ceremony! I love to see the happy faces.

Sorry if I missed this earlier…but why wasn’t William Fox-Pitt in the individual final??

Well, according to Horse and Hound today is Jung’s 30th birthday. What a present for him.

Only three allowed for each country and he was the lower score.

Maximum of 3 riders from any one country allowed in individual. Brits, Germans and Kiwis all had 4 riders in top 25. If it wasn’t for that rule P. Dutton wouldn’t have qualified for the individual jump off.

Ah, thanks for clarifying!
