They’re rotating through the teams in reverse order of team placing. Within a team, they are going in reverse order of placing, as would be normal for an event.

I am assuming we are discussing Melanie but I’m not sure why? The last time I looked she had absolutely nothing to do with eventing or Team strategy except, possibly, to give tips on SJ.
Am I missing something on her relativity?

It wasn’t necessarily “fluff” commentary. It was just commentary - because they have to (or think they have to) yak almost constantly. And it’s true it wasn’t exactly the tidiest presentation. However, when our own rider was late to the ring (perhaps she had trouble with her hairnet?) and was dropping rails and the shabby ponytail woman from Germany was kicking butt, the comment about “the Americans would never look like that” came across as making her and the looks-great-but-not-in-the-running Americans seem to have it all wrong.
