It wasn’t fluff commentary. It was just commentary because they have to (or think they have to) yak almost constantly. And it’s true it wasn’t exactly the tidiest presentation. However, when our own rider was late to the ring (perhaps she had trouble with her hairnet?) and was dropping rails and the shabby ponytail woman from Germany was kicking butt, the comment about “the Americans would never look like that” came across as making her and the looks-great-but-not-in-the-running Americans seem to have it all wrong.
I was talking about my comment. I have no idea of what is being said on american TV. We have relevant commentators in the UK. As I said, my comment (which was made without knowledge of what is being discussed in the USA) was made in passing fluff.

Wonderful and much needed only 1 time penalty for Lucinda…

I take it there aren’t many US people watching   I won’t be able to watch the Individual… :frowning:

NZ next!
I’m watching. I’m drinking coffee which I never ever drink under normal circumstances. I’ll probably be totally zombiefied later since I’m in California. But it does mean I can watch the team jumping and individual.

KOC in now.

Well that’s some nice hardware KOC has…

Love Electric Cruise! Gorgeous horse. KOC up!

The top 25 go on to jump for individual medals.

KOC rode a fabulous round! Well done to Karen!

double clear for Karen O’Connor!!!

Nonsense yourself. We do not have shit announcers where I am from. Too bad for you then. It was not mentioned here. Thankfully I do not have the “luxury” of bad american tv.
oh yes. Honestly the guy announcing sounds exasperated with Melanie too.

YAY KAREN!!! Excellent job!!

Beautiful rid from Karen!

Nice job, Karen! Very smooth, unlike my computer right now, haha.

The comments about the hairnets and ties did make me smile after the horrors over the lack of televised pats for the poniez on this thread.

I’ll take whoever gets the job done - hairnet or not, public pony petting or not ;).

FAbulous round. What the heck was that bit?

HAH HAH !!

Anyway, NZ again!

Clear and clear! He’s a counting score!! (Andrew Nicholson)

Maybe he whinged about the dressage, but again, got the job done :).

I went back and froze it on a closeup…she’s got a mechanical hackamore and snaffle used with a connector and one rein.

(Sigh). Yes, you do. And we’re so jealous! :):)

As MS-T has nothing to do with the eventing team, it’s ridiculous to draw any correlation between her tv commentary and the performance of our riders (or any other riders, for that matter). A complete non-sequitur.
