Anky has done everything to be done in the sport of dressage. As I’m sure you know, she’s been competing very successfully in reining the last few years. She did a dressage pass through at the European Championships last year and was well received.
Riders still use hyperflexion in every Olympic disciple to a certain extent. It’s ok, you don’t have to do it. They don’t care.
It would sure be nice if some people could come on to post on topic and not to make rude remarks. You can always count on certain people to not have any control.
Lady is correct. Anky has done everything. She has kids. She doesn’t need to prove any more in dressage and she an focus on other things in life, like her kids and maybe reining. She’s pretty much accomplished it all, repeatedly.
It’s idiotic to say this is about rolkur. The legacy of Anky and Sjef is Edward Gal and Hans Peter Minderhound, and they are doing pretty well and creating their own legacies.

ladyj79, my comment was more that it IS going away and is much less prevalent than it was when this topic was started. And that I’m happy it’s fading. You don’t have to agree with me, and you might love rollkur, the rules were changed to also stop a lot of it in the warmup, so people are having to move away from it.
My initial question, upon resurrection, was just curiosity. It was sparked by looking at the last page of the forum to see what has changed out here–as far as topics go.

I think people overlook what they don’t like in people they like. There is no difference in how most of these horses are ridden and trained. People love Edward Gal, because…he doesn’t use hyperflexion?? Really???
I think anky gets a lot of grief from the dressage community because it consists of a lot of bitter, type a middle aged women. Anky was young and attractive and highly highly successful. So you know she must be the devil.
And she proves this by becoming highly successful in another discipline and having a nice family and being happy. How dare she.
Good lord.
The only man who gets one tenth the scrutiny of anky is Andreas helgstrand because he makes himself an easy target. But generally the women get slagged and the man get lauded. Exception is Charlotte…for now.

Ride your horse, that will make you happy, then you won’t have time to worry what other people are doing.
