Sleepy Pod Click It Pet Safety Restraint for riding in vehicle

My dogs go to work with hubby and I every day.
I wanted to find a way to keep them from becoming missiles in the event of an accident or even hard stop.

After researching, we decided on Sleepy Pod Click It Harness.
It is a comfortable, padded harness that is secured to the child safety restraint buckles by strong nylon straps with heavy duty buckles.

Our dogs are strapped in EVERY ride no matter how short.
Last week the investment paid off BIG TIME when my husband was involved in a head on collision. The other driver was passing in a no passing zone.
It was probably a 60mph collision, and yes hubby will be OK.
Our Subaru has $7000 worth of damage.
The sleepy pod harness saved my dog from serious injury, beyond any shadow of a doubt!
This happened a quarter mile from our home.

When I wrote Sleepy Pod to thank them for a product that did its job, they insisted on replacing the harness free of charge! GREAT PRODUCT AND AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE.

For anyone who travels with their dog, I urge you to purchase the harness.

WOW!!! I looked them up last year after they got their safety rating. It’s a neat product. I’ve been meaning to order one, but keep putting it off. Clearly, I need to get off my duff and make it happen. So glad your dog (and hubby!) is ok. How scary!

So glad to hear one of the safety harnesses on the market works! I have the Kurgo - they modified it and tested it again after it failed that test that went around the Internet and I was satisfied with the test results.

Can they lay down with it or does it keep then sitting up the whole time?

So glad to hear how well it worked!

I’d like to know this, too. I’d love to have my uncrated dog secured in case of a wreck but she’s gotten herself so tangled in harnesses we’ve tried that I worry about her injuring herself even without one. Very interested in the Sleepy Pod if it can accommodate normal dog positions.

Yes, the dog can sit or lie down. My dogs both took to it without any fuss.

Can they wear this in the back of a hatchback/ SUV and you hook it into the latch tether spots?

4 Martini, I am afraid I can not answer that question. But the reps for Sleepy Pod are AWESOME! I DO KNOW that in MOST SUV’s the passenger areas are made strong, but the rear cargo area is made to crumple, so my best advice is to NOT to put the dog back there.

I actually found on their website that they can be used in the cargo area with proper anchors. Crumple zones are usually pretty small in the rear and manufacturers like Subaru advocate putting your dog in the back- so I have to assume reasonably safe in cars with decent sized cargo areas. That said I’m buying a new car soon and this is another justification for a three row SUV - so I can leave third row down for dogs. I have child seat and child in second row.

That’s good to know. Believe me, you will feel SO much better having the dog in the harness. My dog would have been hurt if he was not buckled in. And I AM SO happy i bought the harness.

I will have to look into this. Thank you for recommending it!
