Slip on barn shoes

I recently had to give up my muck boots also. They were literally killing my feet if I wore them for long and that was after insoles! I switched to XtraTuf slip-ons. I did add my support insoles in them but since switching I have had absolutely no problems. I would highly recommend them. You can find them on Amazon.

I have a pair of these Bean boots but without the shearling lining. Love, love, love them. I pull my jeans down over the outside, so the extra body heat keeps my toes nice and warm. Had my latest pair for over a year now and can wear them all day around the barn with no problem. Just hose them off and they still look like new. http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/83445?feat=sr&term=bean+lounger+boot
Where do you find the ones without the shearling? I don’t see them on the site.

Duluth trading company has these Wild Boar Moccasins…they come in leather or suede, the suede is not waterproof but the leather is great! While not the most fashionable, they are super comfy with great foot support and traction! And a decent price. They also have boots which I haven’t tried yet…

Not sure why I can’t find the womens link…but they are the same shoes…

The Slogger footbed isn’t completely flat but it doesn’t have a lot of arch support. I was kind of surprised to find out that they’re made in and shipped from Gardena, right near where I live. That would explain their rapid arrival.

The problem I find with adding an insert (because I too need arch support) in my slip on muck boots is that way too often the insert comes out or becomes crooked when I am taking them off. It is such a hassle. It would be great if there was something with good support built in.

My favorites - which I use for things like gardening in addition to dealing with rain/mud at the barn - come from Sperry.

These are the ones I use most often; they also make a taller version:

LLBean ‘duck shoes’ moccasins - many varieties - all great !

I am finally having to admit my Merrells died. They had good support, but I extended it with Superfeet insoles which were secure. I need to replace mine and I think they are the Merrells Encore Nova style. In winter, I have a few other options, but the Merrells have been the best ever.

Mudruckers all the way. Super squishy. http://www.amazon.com/Mudruckers-Mid-Boots-8-Black/dp/B004Q4YE3U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1446223847&sr=8-1&keywords=mudruckers+boots I step off the stoop right into’em, then use the porch step as a boot jack on my way back in.
I love my pair of Mudruckers but they cracked after a year of wearing :frowning: At least they weren’t as expensive as the Muckboot ones were…

These slip on Bean Boot mocs are what I use all year except when the snow is here and it would go in them. Then I switch to high Muck Boots. I think a few other posters above have referenced them but here is a link.

UGG makes a water proof no slip step in barn type, shoe lined with shearling…they have a barrier along bottom where sole meets to prevent rotting…pricey but ton of support attractive enough to go into town with from barn…I like them comfortable no rubs no back issues not foot fatigue.

I got mine from Nordstroms…

The Duluth Wild Boars look so nice but the women’s all seem to be on clearance. Guess they are discontinuing? I would not have thought of them as barn shoes, they are so nice.

If you are size 6 or 6.5 they still had a few.

Those Uggs look great too.

Unfortunately, “slip on shoe” is incompatible with “good arch support”. Not gonna happen. I too need good arch support and like the convenience of slip on…the best I have found is Blundstones with an orthotic. Mind you I have never tried Danskos. Personally I prefer a boot for barn work as I hate getting hay and shavings in my shoe.

Alright, I went shopping

Mr S also needed new shoes and wound up with these. Tried to find something similar in the store for women, but struck out–came home with these. Which are super comfortable but really just too nice for the barn.

Looked at the Polarand Rove women’s options and was unimpressed with color choices, so ordered a pair of the waterproof jungle mocs.

Support in the foot bed isn’t perfect, but it’s a lot better than my Muck shoes. Still might try to find a good insole, but think I will be okay even if I can’t.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! Will come back here if the jungle mocs don’t quite do it.

Thanks to this thread I replaced my Mudruckers with Merrell Jungle Mocs and so far they are heavenly and super comfy. Lots of good arch support so far.
My achey-breaky feet and legs already feel better when I jump outta bed in the morning. My back also loves them.

Thaks Cothers for the suggestion!
