Slip on barn shoes

I’ve been wearing these muck shoes for the past year or so for chores and barn work. Love the slip on factor and the waterproofness. But they are now KILLING my back and hips. There’s no support, even with better insoles. I’m dying.

I really need something with the same sort of functionality–waterproof, slip on, good traction–with better support in the footbed.

Suggestions?

This is the men’s version but they make a ladies too. Love it

I’ve got some plastic clog muckers I got at TS. Pretty solid. I like 'em.

Second this! I love my Jungle Mocs. It’s hard not to wear them everywhere all the time.

Ariat zip Terrains. These are my barn boot, I added more waterproofing, and a basic insole. Happy feet all day long.

I pretty much live in Danskos, but my place doesn’t have mud.

Sloggers.

I’m one of those people who turns my ankles in Danskos. I never fell off of these.

I LOVE my Sloggers. I have both the “shoe” and the “rain boot” styles. They are indestructible and so comfortable.

I wear sloggers too. I got them at TSC. I only get out my real muck boots if it is dire…

I use these http://www.sperry.com/en/cormorant-slip-on-duck-shoe/044213427025.html?cid=SEM-G_Shopping_Cormorant%20Slip-On%20Duck%20Shoe&kpid=19858W-044213427025&gclid=CN-kx8z24MgCFUgvgQodBB4GmA

I have a pair of these Bean boots but without the shearling lining. Love, love, love them. I pull my jeans down over the outside, so the extra body heat keeps my toes nice and warm. Had my latest pair for over a year now and can wear them all day around the barn with no problem. Just hose them off and they still look like new. http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/83445?feat=sr&term=bean+lounger+boot

I wear Ariat zip Terrains, too, and added a gel liner. I have pretty bad pain from bunions and I just got the plastic Birkenstock clogs – Birki’s. They’re great barn shoes – no heel to fall off of, waterproof, very supportive. The only caveat is there a bit loose and debris gets in there – shavings, whatever – so, I doubt I’ll wear them much in winter.

I agree with those who are wearing Sloggers! They come in cute colors like Dansko, if you are into that. They are comfortable and slip on. I even wear them in the hot summer (a touch hotter on my feet than natural leather shoe, but who cares).

Are the sloggers acceptable on ice?

I have insulated Muck Boots that I LOVE for barn work in the winter (and have the shorter cooler ones for summer), but they’re bulky and often too dirty to wear around the office. I’m looking for something I can wear mostly inside, but still be able to run outside in if someone needs me quickly.

Wow, thanks for the suggestions!

I am intrigued by the sloggers. How is the support in the footbed? I really, really, really need something with arch support.

Arch support is not great with the Sloggers.

Maybe insert some insoles???

Mudruckers all the way. Super squishy. http://www.amazon.com/Mudruckers-Mid-Boots-8-Black/dp/B004Q4YE3U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1446223847&sr=8-1&keywords=mudruckers+boots I step off the stoop right into’em, then use the porch step as a boot jack on my way back in.

Me too. Love sloggers. Also in a moccassin type with a back.
I like that they can be completely washed out and the insole is removable - how about adding the ariat insole?

I think slip-on plus arch support is tricky to find. My arches can’t handle flat, unsupported foot beds. I live in Florida so I need waterproof and not too hot. I bought a pair of Justin Gypsy cowboy boots from SmartPak and added an arch support. They are still a pain to get on, but supportive. I have Bogs slip-ons, similar to the Sloggers, with added arch plus insole (two things added!) and they work for quick trips out to the barn and back.

I really like these insoles, the I add the arch support underneath them.
