Ah - mine is woven/no backing. May have to buy the thinner/backed version!

I confirmed last night w my pro hauler who has the coconut mat that he bought it specifically to prevent slipping in rain and he said it works great. No slip when wet.
I also got one from coco mats n more. Woven no backing. Works fine. Much cheaper than buying from a horse source.

How do you secure this to the ramp? Does it just screw into the mat? or the frame of the ramp? I have a new 4star and one of mine has slipped to her knees her last 2 times unloading! I was planning to walk her thru the trailer and out the side ramp, but that’s not always a great long term solution. She never slipped until she got shoes on up front and she almost looks like she is going down the ramp on her tip toes?? An unsecured mat would just slip, I’m sure, so I want to secure it or put strips somehow across the ramp for her to catch? Thoughts?
I use a coco mat on my 4Star ramp. The mat is not secured - I just roll it in/out as needed. It doesn’t move at all. The weight and texture of it is such that it stays in place.

I, also, have a 4 Star. I thought I might have to screw the mat onto the ramp, but it stays put perfectly without screws. It even stayed put when my youngster was learning how to load.

This is interesting… I wound up trading my previous 4 Star and had a longer ramp put on my new one. I thought it was just me and my pony…
This mat is not secured and does not move either. I asked about that. He did say if it gets soaked it is heavy.
@BroncoMo, I screwed up. My old trailer had the standard ramp. The new one is 5 feet…not 6. I’m sorry for this mistake.
Frankly I forgot about this thread until all these responses started blowing up my inbox 
I ended up with a brand new custom Balanced Ride and the ramps are great. Shallow and the mat is grippy. I haven’t had any issues with loading when the ramp or the hooves are wet.
