Small business - recommendations!

In light of the negative changes from some of our favorite large vendors, I thought perhaps we could offer up our recommendations for small businesses that offer quality products and outstanding customer service…

My top three:

–edited out one of my originals–

http://horsehairjewelry.weebly.com/ - Tracy is a poster here on COTH and made a keychain and bracelet from my heart horse’s tail after she passed away last year. They are simply breathtaking and Tracy is a doll to work with.

http://twosocksdesigns.com/ - Sydney has the cutest designs to embroider on saddle pads, gear bags, etc. Her FB page shows some of the work she’s done - today’s was a “Finding Nemo” pad that is simply precious!!!

I will add equiglass:

She made a beautiful stained glass ornament with our veterinarian’s logo for a Christmas present.

The Equiglas site is wonderful! Now I’m wanting a custom stained glass head study of my Appy mare and a panel of my beloved Basenji queen who passed away last September.

Bumping… I can’t believe no one else has any recommendations!!!

Bumping this old thread because I remember there being one with COTHers who make things - like soap and stained glass ornaments. Would be great to support fellow COTHers while Christmas shopping.

A friend of mine is now making hand-made wooden equine accessories. The grooming boxes are my personal favorite! You can essentially custom design yours - size, type, stain, number of dividers, etc. and they all turn out beautifully. You can also order a custom brass plate for personalization if you want!

Ladies’ sized coveralls that actually look good and are warm.

I have a pair. Fast shipping, and they are well-made.

I love these designs for halter and bridle tags! Her products are super cute and hand made. Highly recommend Nice Filly - Kristen does a great job!

Thanks for all the kind words about Equiglas!

Higher Standards Custom Leather Care, Polar Square Designs, Dapplebay, Faibel Farms <—All COTHers, all fantastic businesses!

Not to toot my own horn, but I have started my own small business doing custom horse grooming brushes. Still time to do a few more Xmas orders! Great for trainer gifts or your horse friend who has everything. Can do barn colors or create fun designs.

The Horse’s Glass

I saw the one that was ordered as a surprise for my friend’s birthday. I took the pics of her Andy and I have to say the painting is fabulous! Especially with all of his dapples and swirls. She captured his image beautifully.

She has a pretty long wait list, since she has a “real job” too. But I think the wait is worth it. I’m going to be ordering one for another friend to have ready for her birthday next year.

I’d be interested in partnering with your friend- she is making grooming totes and i am making hand painted grooming brushes! I’d really like to get unfinished hand painted totes so that they could be customized to match!

Definitely recommend Pony Locks for horse hair jewelry! The owner Penny is great and the quality of her jewelry is amazing!
