When my old horse was retired 6 years ago I kept his last set of shoes. I’m not very artsy, but I made this as a small memorial to him. Included is a small lock of tail hair and an “angel horse” pendant I found a few years ago. The blue disc at the bottom is made of glass and contains a small amount of his ashes.
That is lovely
A friend made me windchimes from my TB & DH’s horse’s shoes.
I have tail hair from both, but not enough for jewelry & chimes are outside, so not adding hair that would disintegrate.
I can tell the shoes apart, know whose is whose & they make me happy.

I smile in my heart when I see our past horses’ halters and leads hanging in place with the others…or need to grab a lead from one to use with one of the current horses thinking current horse could learn something from the past …then appreciate the new one for what it is or could be. But remember how good the one that passed was.
