I have been lurking a bit…nothing much to talk about. Reading the dressage forum, the western and putting a few things together.
Supple is coming nicely, lope transitions are fairly consistent, smooth and soft. Jog is almost locked in as far as tempo and frame.
I’m learning to ride with purpose and focus, to work out problems in a logical way for him.
My next step is the make up ring. There is a show coming up over the weekend of the 10th. I really want to take him and see if I can get past my nerves and retain my focus and concentration when we’re in the make up ring and practicing in the arena. I’ve been given permission to bring him to ride without showing. And if all goes well, I can pop into a class.
He has a winter coat and certainly wouldn’t be presented as a “show” horse but this is my last chance to try my wings this year. After having a pretty horrible year on several levels, it would be nice to end on a relaxed note.
