Smartpak free Piper breeches 3/15

If I wasn’t trying to give my horse away, I might start him on something silly for new Pipers. However, I prefer Platinum after trying SmartPaks. I liked the convince and the drawer of SP, but Platinum showed a difference much quicker. I did like my PaksPerks through SP, but I didn’t shop enough to really save a ton. A few pairs of Pipers here and there (on my birthday etc because of great deals).

My platinum costs me pretty much the same and my horse does really well with it. The only complaint I have about Platinum is that I SWEAR they don’t send his paks refill every 30 days like requested. I always have at least half a bucket full every time they send. I’m over flowing with Platinum!

Anyone know if you can be an existing smartpak-er and just add a new horse?

I do need to do that.

Confused what this has to do with free breeches?

Thankfully there is no rule that you or anyone else has to us Smartpaks and the rest of us are still allowed to use them because we like them.

I have peeled a ton of Smartpaks and I have to assume I know some special trick (that I did not realize I knew) or other people are simply trying to peel the darn thing all at once instead of one cell at time.[/QUOTE]
It is the internet, it doesn’t have to have anything to do with breeches, but since an awful lot of people board horses, and it is SmartPak giving away breeches in exchange for signing up for SmartPak supplements, the owners signing up should probably make sure their barn likes the things before they sign up for them.

When you have 20 horses on 25 supplements they’re pretty handy - once you get the hang of opening them.

I’ve seen barns that actually require them, and that doesn’t seem unreasonable to me. If you wanted something that wasn’t available through smartpak you had to do labeled baggies yourself.

I called.

You get the breeches free when your SmartPak totals $40 or more.

You’re welcome.

Does adding a new horse count if you’re already a customer?

I believe so. She just said “the only requirement is that the SP’s total $40 or more” so I would think if you add a new horse as an existing customer, it would apply.

Thank you for calling.

I assume it has to be a new account (new horse). Not a boring old existing customer account like mine.

They had the same type of offer for a free blanket last month. The fact that I had to call made me think that there’s a big catch.

Figured there was a catch, wish the ad stated it. THANKS for calling and posting

I called - the promo does not apply to long term loyal customers UNLESS you want to ADD a horse or a new supplement. I mentioned I would not be the only one who thought that wasn’t quite a great way to say thanks to your loyal customers and suggested that they find a way to thank people who have been using them for years. Got a canned response, but at least it was a response.

Pretty typical lure for new business, isn’t it? Sounds like cable TV promo rates to me.

Thank you for calling and voicing our collective opinion to them. I appreciate it!

I put in a call after I switched to two different supplements (for an additional $20/mo) on my existing monthly order. I was told the promotion only applied to new customers. I just cancelled my Smartpaks. I buy another supplement (that Smartpak doesn’t carry) from another company - I’ll give them all of my business from now on.

I don’t understand why people are so bent out of shape to the point of cancelling all their future orders. It’s normal for a company to add a special promotion to attract new customers. Apartment complexes offer 1st month free, Cable companies and Phone companies offer similar discounts, etc. I just don’t get the outrage. If you have been a satisfied long term customer up until now what’s the problem?

I noticed that when I bought one of their supplements but did not buy it in the “paks” - that they did not ever contact me again to reorder. I even called and asked them about it and she said something to the effect “oh, we don’t want to bother people”. Yeh, right. My impression? If you don’t buy the Paks, they don’t want your business. So, they ain’t got my business. It’s a scam of some sort - don’t trust them

I’m really not surprised they’ve had to go to this type of promotion; they used to be super cost efficient, but it now would cost me 1/3 more to use them than to get local stuff and just put it in a container or baggies for the barn…

Yes, it is common, but the loyal customers often resent it. My cable bill is WAY higher than what a new customer would pay. It’s not like they’re getting one month free. They get two years at half price. There aren’t other options for internet where I live, so I’m stuck if I want it. I can, however, buy supplements from a number of places. Voting with your pocketbook makes an impact. (Note: I do not, nor have I ever, purchased supplements in SmartPaks. I don’t have an ax to grind here.)

The irony - I’ve had a horse on SmartPaks for over 2 years. Yesterday, I decided to switch her supplements and I didn’t want to wait for next month’s refill so I cancellled and re-started her on a new (SmartCombo) product, about 40% more expensive than the one she was on…and yet, I did not receive the email. (scratching head)

The full explantation from SmartPak:

“SmartPak Hi Victoria - good question! This offer goes along with starting a SmartPak for a new horse that is over $40 (which you would also earn free shipping on every month!). The breeches you can pick from are the Piper Full Seat Breeches, item #20945, the Piper Plus Full Seat Breeches, item #20946, the Piper Knee Patch Breeches, item #20947, and the Piper Plus Knee Patch Breeches, item #20948. Just let us know if you have any other questions! -SmartPaker Lyn”

Meaning spend $40+ and you can’t pick any of the new Pipers (knit, modified rise, silicon patch/seat). Also can’t pick plaid or classic.
