Anyone called to find out the fine print?! I’m assuming it requires an expensive Smartpak supplement order or that you have to keep the smartpaks going for some period of time. Curious if anyone called and found out…
I do not see anywhere that even says they are free. I checked my email and the website.
The email I got had the title “today only-free piper breeches”
The email says call and talk to an associate - so I’d just do that.
I’m kind of annoyed, though, about all the perks for starting a horse on smartpaks - what do I get for having between one and three horses on smartpaks consistently for the past, ok, 8 years or so?
Nothing!!
Grrr…

I was thinking the same thing! Maybe there is some kind of discount for current Smartpack users? I’d love to try the Pipers . . .
I’m not in a place where I can make a call now and was curious if anyone else had and knew the fine print…
I do not have the email yet… I guess my two horses on smartpaks that cost me well over the minimal for free shipping each is not enough to allow me to get this email.
I would call if I had the email.
No fine print. Says:
We’re so excited that you’re starting your horse on SmartPaks! Call our Supplement Experts at 1-800-461-8898 to order your horse’s SmartPaks and claim your FREE item.
And shows photos of a bunch of pipers.
Oh, so it is for people who are new to Smartpaks.
Following is the link from the email:
If I wasn’t at work, I would call!
Laugh. Clearly I need to cancel my Smartpaks and start them up again…
Well. WTF. I just started my old horse on Smartpaks in January…but I guess I don’t count b/c my other horse has been on them for a couple of years.

I think you have to start them today to get the breeches.
They are shipping today…does that count??
i’m going to buy a new horse so i can get free pipers

Oh, I like this logic!
Or just change your horse’s name
I had one boarder come with a month of SmartPaks, and do NOT want those in my barn. That horse’s supply took up way too much space in my feed room. I would rather have 3 different containers and scoop them out myself.
I hated (so did my husband) opening the stupid strip of plastic cups
I hated the added recycle/trash.
I struggled to not spill the supplement getting the paper lid off smoothly as I dumped it into the horse’s feed.
I like the customer service at SmartPak, but abhor the way the supplements are dispensed and the actual SmartPak containers are not an option for supplements in my small barn.

Confused what this has to do with free breeches?
Thankfully there is no rule that you or anyone else has to us Smartpaks and the rest of us are still allowed to use them because we like them.
I have peeled a ton of Smartpaks and I have to assume I know some special trick (that I did not realize I knew) or other people are simply trying to peel the darn thing all at once instead of one cell at time.
I wrote them on FB about it, so we’ll see what they say. My guess is there’s a minimum purchase requirement meaning we can’t order one month of SmartShine for $10 and get free Pipers. That, or it’s a very select few Pipers we can choose from.
It sounds like the supplement portion of SmartPak hasn’t been doing so well because they’re promoting HARD all the time, almost too often just to push their products. People also have a lot more access to information than they did when SmartPaks first became a super cool new thing, and they’re slowly discovering that they have a lot more (and cheaper) options.
