I used to own some but it’s been several years and several pounds since then! I am a waistless wonder and more of an apple shape. I usually wear a size 30L in breeches but I feel like the last pair of Hadleys I had ran small. Can anyone offer their opinion on whether these are true to size? Any other apple shapes or folks with no waist try these breeches? Thanks so much!
I wanted to like them so much because I like the feel of the fabric, but at least for the high rise ones, the waist is tiiiight. I’m SHOULDERS-waist-ASS and ordered a size up and they’re still tight at the waistband. They fit great through my hips butt and legs otherwise though.
That’s what I was afraid of! Thank you for weighing in!
Huh, I am pretty boxy (pretty darn even shoulder-waist-hip) and I think mine are cut pretty well for that shape in my usual size. I’m sure mine are not the high rise, though, as I am short and have no rise. Mid rise on me = regular rise; low rise = mid
I have a pair and like the way they fit my fluffy in the middle figure pretty well.
I have a few pairs of Hadleys, one in the original full seat and one in the high rise full seat. They fit about the same until you get to the waist, which I’d expect as the rises are different. The original is a mid rise and the high rise is HIGH, which I really like. They’re pretty true to size and fit my body type well. Small waist with a bigger booty/legs. I’m 5’2” and around 130 lbs, and the 28 fits me perfectly. I have a pair in 30 that are a little baggy on me.
They’re comfortable and durable, and they wash well. I have a black pair and they repel dust pretty well too.
The high waisted line reminds me of the Romfh Champion line, not quite as nice but very similar.
Overall I’m impressed with them and would buy more, but I’m a recent Free Ride/Maya Delorez addict.
The Hadley Curvy is the best-fitting breech I have found. I have no waist, a gluteus that is very maximus, and thunder thighs. For me, the rise is a little long, but the cut from waist to hips to knee is the best I have found for my body. I wear a 28 and find them true to size. If you have a long inseam, their long is not kidding. I have a 31" inseam and this is the first breech where I have exchanged the long for the regular!
Following, as I’m an apple when it comes to body shape and I’ve wondered about these breeches as well.
The Hadley was originally designed to fit a more hourglass or pear shape (smaller waist compared to hips). Now it looks like what used to just be “Hadley” is “Hadley Curvy”
So with these new versions, in the size 26 high waist the regular has a 27.2" waist and 33.9" hips, so about a 5.5" difference. The Curvy is 25.5" waist and 36.5" hips, so twice the difference at 11".
