So I did a thing today

She is doing great - terrorizing the entire household! Her new nickname is ‘Piranha’ because she can eat 3xs as much food as my other cats in the same amount of time. So I feed her and Ham first, then the other cats, then it’s time to grab her and feed her again. I’m not sure if she actually chews the food. I’m really glad I kept her - she brightens up the whole place. Last night I threw a jingle ball and she and Maximus were playing with it together. And she’s so smart - it took her no time at all to learn the word ‘no,’ particularly when backed up by a spray bottle. She doesn’t like the word, but she does obey it.

I’ll try to upload a photo from my phone soon - Zoom meetings in an hour, and I still need to eat some lunch.

It used to be a mouse! She has 2, actually, both inherited from Hammie.

She IS photogenic - and she knows it!

I think that’s the perspective - but they are getting bigger!

Adorable!

Ella has three mousies with string tails that I tied longer strings to because she loves to pull them around the house by their tails. She will pull a mousy up to the food dish and put the string in the dish before she starts to eat.

My kitties don’t play with the store bought toys. They like the tabs that you pull off of milk cartons, pens, socks and spiders.

Mine like some store-bought toys, but I watched Itty Bitty play with a piece of paper today for like 20 minutes. Happy as a clam.

And spiders, yes. I wish they would stop going after the daddy longlegs, though! I need them to kill the recluses. (The daddy longlegs, not the cats.)

Daddy Longlegs kill recluses(reclusii?)
Kewl!
I’ve never bothered a DL, they amaze & entertain me.

Itty is growing into quite the lovely ladycat
And charming your GrumpyOldGuys as she goes

That’s what I’ve always heard! They certainly eat the same things recluses eat, so maybe they just keep them away? Either way, having been bitten by a recluse, whatever it takes to keep them away is okay with me.

Yes, she is going from cute to pretty now. Makes me kind of sad . . . her spay is scheduled for Dec. 7 (the earliest I could get on the schedule!).

My girls really bulked up after their spay. One still cries like she is in heat. I hope that will stop. Waking up in the middle of the night with her crying and carrying something in her mouth isn’t fun to listen to.

That is totally a 1930s/40s movie star pose!

Baler’s favorite toys? A small dead stick. A piece of cardboard fluff. A q-tip. Regular cat toys? Yawn.

All the toys at my house must feel abandoned. Ollie was the only one who really played with them. My other cats could care less, though Pearl will drag a couple of the larger ones around and yell at them. I think she thinks they are kittens? She never tussles with them just carries or drags from place to place, dropping them only to yell at them.

IB is getting to be quite the little grown-up princess. She looks like a 40s movie star with her face markings.

Here are the favorite toys at my place. Elastic hair band, toy mouse, foam soccer ball, tin foil ball. I am constantly fishing them out from under the couch and the dresser.

Yes - but yesterday morning I had to drag her through the kitchen and hallway because she had wrapped her front paws and teeth around/into my ankle. And she still goes MEEP when she wants to communicate something. Greta Garbo she ain’t. More like Lina Lamont.

There’s a basket of toys in my bedroom, and another in the living room. And about 150 jingle balls in various locations. There is also one Very Important Mouse that has gone through about 4 generations of kitties. It’s small, pink and white, fuzzy, and has a little thing inside that makes noise Not expensive at all - probably came in a pack of four from Walmart or something. ALL the cats love that mouse. It disappears for a while, and you think it’s gone for good - and then one day you’ll see someone playing with it.

I just laughed out loud at work at this analogy!
