So I want some black half chaps with fringe...

If you can find a pair of the Ariat Cameos on ebay or something, I highly recommend them. Hold up super well, and because the fringe is removable, you can take it off before wallowing in the mud! Also really great when a horse hasn’t really learned about personal bubbles yet and steps on the fringe-it comes off and you don’t fall on your face!

My custom half chaps are from Nancy at Turning Point Leather. I LOVE them and they have held up fabulously. She measured me and made them in the 3 weeks I was at Thermal. She’ll do any options you want and the price was really reasonable. I definitely recommend TPL.

If your going to spend the money on customs go with chuck pinnell. His work is amazing, I have a few pairs of half chaps from him and they are priceless. His purses and belt and amazing as well. Otherwise the Grand Prixs if you dont want to spend the money.

I have a FABULOUS pair from Journeyman. They’re black leather with pink piping, a monogram, and black fringe  Great quality and they fit like a glove! I didn’t pay…a ton, maybe mid 300’s?
these are them:

Another YAY for Turning Point Leather. Nancy made me a lovely pr of Spanish top black 1/2 chaps last Spring for my short/wide calves and they are super nice. Fit was perfect when they arrived; I did have a tailor measure and fill in the chart to be safe. Now I have lost 40 lbs and they need to be re-cut to not fall down;)

Journeymans is pennies on the dollar compared to Chuck but I love his work and options so I ordered a pair from him.[/QUOTE]

Really?

I managed to spend $850 on a pair of Journeyman’s with all the trimmings.
They have a SAH-WEET beaded back yoke, embroidery on the side yokes, buckstitching plus double piping down the leg, a fancy buckle, and fringe. I don’t think there would be any possible way to bling them out any more.

I shudder to think what that would be in ‘pennies on the dollar land.’

His half chaps start in the $600-700 range. My custom journeyman’s half chaps were maybe $350 with all possible options.

Stuck In the Saddle Half Chaps

I make custom half chaps that are super reasonable in price. They start at $140 and go up from there depending on what options you want. Check out my webpage at www.Stuckinthesaddle.com or Facebook: Stuck in the Saddle for some more recent half chaps that were completed.

Chuck pinnell all the way!!!

Chuck is the man… Look at his FB page for examples!!!

I believe they were discontinued years ago. You can still find them occasionally on eBay or the Facebook tack selling pages.
