My dog seems to have acquired a taste for bird seed and cleans up under the feeders. Is this bad? Should I take down the feeders? She doesn’t seem any the worse for wear and does a nice job of cleaning up the mess underneath so should I discourage her?
I would not worry about the seeds per se. I would worry about exposure to bird poop, salmonella, avian flu, etc.

Definitely not a great idea to allow this to continue.
I looked it up on google and several places said if the seed is wet or moldy there’s a chance of aflatoxins, otherwise, in moderation it’s okay. I’m going to limit her exposure to it forthwith.
