Hi! I’m looking for feed stores or hay suppliers in Southern California who provide hay analysis’s for the hay they sell. My horse is recovering from laminitis, and I’m currently soaking her hay to lower the sugars since I don’t have it tested. I’m wanting to buy hay that will be suitable and safe for her to continue on with her rehab process.
Does anybody know of places where I could buy tested hay? Thank you in advance!

I’m not sure where in SoCal you are, but I never had any success finding a feed store that tested regularly enough to be reliable sadly.
My suggestions would be to feed something packaged with a guaranteed nutrition label (like soaked Timothy pellets or the Standlee compressed hay bales) or keep soaking/steaming the hay. Our hay here is not great quality in general so I rinse and steam it for all my horses just to get the fungus/pesticides/dust out and make it more palatable. My super senior horse and easy keeper have never had any metabolic episodes and they’re on soaked Timothy pellets and steamed Timothy. Hope that helps
