SOCTA : newbie weenie eventer

I have entered my first SOCTA from hunterland.

I am comfortable with the level and ability but- i have no idea how it’s judged. Any insight?

Dressage is scored like “regular” dressage, but then you subtract the percentage from 100 to get your penalties. So if you score a 65%, your penalties are 35.

Stadium - scored like a table A, so any rails or refusals are 4 penalty points added, plus any time faults if applicable.

Your total penalty points are then compared to the rest of the division to get the placings.

Are you looking for more in-depth “how is dressage judged” info? If so, read through the first two sections of the EC dressage rulebook, and also make sure you’re looking at the directives on the test. Then ask me if you have any questions

Are you aiming for Foxcroft, or Hamilton Hunt? I’m about to bite the bullet on the latter.

Foxcroft!

Have fun! I’m wussing out of Hamilton Hunt (four hour drive in the middle of the week is ugh), but if you get to Sprucehaven, let me know!

I am hoping to! I’ll PM you
